SONM and GRcade Merger

tl;dr We are merging with SONM, HDYFRN? is their space, vote for best Nintendo game, PM me about AYAW?, OrangeRakoon is staff now, be nice to new members.
Hi all,
About two years ago we became affiliated with SONM. Formed from a Future magazine forum after its closure, SONM is a board whose story and culture closely echoed our own. Over the last two years it has been our pleasure to welcome their members here, and our privilege to be welcomed to their community in turn.
It is with genuine sadness that I report our sister site is now closing. It's not the end of SONM's story or community, though, as we've decided to merge the two forums and welcome SONM's membership into our own. I'd like to ask everyone on GRcade to take a couple of minutes to read this post that explains the merger.

What will change on GRcade?
The most obvious change is that we are likely to get some new members. We anticipate they will bring a new chat room style thread with them, How Do You Feel Right Now?, and we suggest this will be a primarily SONM space (though feel free to post there if you want, obviously!). We will also be incorporating a little bit of SONM's branding into our own style, possibly by adding a little colour to the theme or altering the logo slightly, though - full disclosure! - we aren't quite sure what this will look like yet. (We look forward to announcing that last bit properly once we finalise the details.) Finally, we're happy to welcome SONM's admin, OrangeRakoon, to our own team: he will be Secretary for SONM.
How will we mark the change?
We're going to have a couple of logo doodles running, and we'll run a 'Best Nintendo game ever' discussion & poll. SONM loves forum games, so I think it might be a good time to run a new Are You A Werewolf? as well. I have some ideas for this, but give me a PM if you're interested in running it or have any suggestions. I have one last point which is less exciting (unless like me you love data!), but: GRcade is going to have an official census once things have settled down, possibly in early March.
What is expected of us?
Please welcome any newbies earnestly and genuinely. This forum is very friendly so let's make sure they see that side of us. (I am officially killing the "piss off noob" meme -- don't post nonsense like this, no matter how 'obviously a joke' you feel it is.)

Finally, I'd like to use this post to officially say farewell to the SONM site and to welcome again the SONM community. Many of us here see GRcade as a kind of online family, and I hope you will accept GRcade as your new home.
