My history

PlayStation - Finally tired of Sega's lack of Saturn support in 1997 and traded for this, Metal Gear Solid, Tekken 3, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil 2, ISS Pro 98 were all played to death

PlayStation 2 - Again, traded a Sega in for this, this time the Dreamcast the day after Sega announced they were leaving the console business, took a while to get going and, for me, was basically a PES machine for most of it's existence

PSP - First time I bought a system day one, got it along with WipEout Pure and Ridge Racers, remember everyone being mind blown when I took it in work the next day

PlayStation 3 - I was an Xbox 360 gamer and didn't get this until Uncharted and MGS 4 were released. Slowly overtook the 360 for me towards the end of the lifespan with Uncharted 2 and Last of Us being my favourite games.

PlayStation 4 - Bought a year after launch and, along with PS2, felt like it took a really long time for great games to come out. God of War, Spider-man and Uncharted Lost Legacy have been my favourite games so far

PS VR - Included as it could be a system in it's own right, bought alongside Resident Evil 7 and, as with the PSP has blown the minds of everyone I've shown it to. Ace Combat 7 is next on my buy list.

PS2 onwards, but not yet got VR. I think the PSP remains my favourite :wub:

The PS2 and PSP were got the Christmas after release, but I got my PS3 with MGS4, my Vita with Tearaway, and my PS4 with Little Big Planet 3.

I have a PlayStation 3. I felt that as a Wii U-only owner, I was missing out on a lot of gaming.

Then the Switch came along. I’ve played about three hours total. :fp:

I've owned all 4 of the main Playstations, the first was a christmas gift in 1995 (along with a copy of Ridge Racer).

Funnily enough though, unlike with Nintendo, i've never had a Sony console at launch, with the PS2, 3, and 4, i've waited approx a year to get one (usually when a AAA title i want comes along).

Crikey, only missing the Vita out of them, Sony fanboy FTW :datass:

All except 4 and VR. I was heavily into the original PS.

Really thought I’d get a PS4 one day, but there are nowhere near enough reasons to justify me having both XB1 and PS4.

Playstation - Picked one up in the Summer of 99 Silent Hill, Tekken 3, Rival Schools, SF Alpha 2, PES, Gran Turismo, FFVIII, & FFIX, loved it to bits

Playstation 2 - Again I was late to the party, I think I only got it for GTA:SA, Really can't remember what I played. All I do remember were SOTC, and PES again.

Playstation 3 - I won one right at launch! Woo, I sold it to a guy down the pub that night

Playstation 4 - Purchased it for Destiny TTK, played it a bit. Then sold it on 6 months later, after it had been sat in the cupboard for 4 months.

I've owned all of them.

Best memories would be Shadow of the Colossus on PS2, playing all of the Uncharted games on PS3 but the best was definitely just the PSP as a whole. Taken as what it was for it's time of release it's one of the best pieces of hardware ever made.

Playstation - My brothers bought this at Christmas '97 along with RE:Directors Cut and FFVII. Absolutely loved it - MGS, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Tekken, Tomb Raider, Wipeout - just so many great games and franchises came to this machine!

Playstation 2 - I bought this in 2001 when Gran Turismo 3 came out and was pretty disappointed with it for a while, I had bought a Dreamcast the year before and that just seemed to have more fun games to play. Over time this changed and the PS2 ended up giving me some truly amazing experiences: MGS2, Silent Hill 2, Devil May Cry, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and many more. GTA3 was by far my most played game - I'm confident that I played this every single day from release until Vice City came out a year later! :toot:

Despite loving Sony's first machines I've still not picked up anything since the PS2. The PS3 came out when I was a cash strapped PhD student, I already had a 360 and for the first few years the exclusives just didn't appeal. I meant to pick one up toward the end of its life but never got round to it.

By the time the PS4 came along I was too busy with kids and gaming had taken a bit of a back seat for a few years, I do think I will get one eventually but not sure when as I'm surprised just how expensive they still are. I'm sure by this point in the lifecycle the PS2 could be picked up for about £150!

Playstation - Had one when I was young, but years after it first coming out. Mainly enjoyed the Spyro games on it and especially Year of the Dragon. Also have fond memories playing Abe's Exodus, Pandemonium, Spiderman 1 & 2, Worms Armageddon and Jackie Chan Stuntmaster. I remember also having the first Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider at some point, along with Rayman. A few other titles I don't remember or care to mention too. Looking back, I played a lot more Playstation than I remembered considering I was a Nintendo boy. Of the games I mentioned though, I only remember completing Year of the Dragon and Spiderman 1.

Playstation 2 - Bought this and about 15+ games in my late adolescence because it was dirt cheap. Barely played any of them. Was eager to try out the 3D GTA games which I did and I enjoyed them but not nearly enough to bother completing. Borrowed Shadow of the Collosus from a friend and liked it a lot. Eventually got around to playing Persona 3 FES, which I loved/hated. And I think the version of Resi 4 I played was the PS2 one, and I really like that game too.

This is making me want to look at my collection again and see if there's anything I want to play. Maybe Beyond Good & Evil, which I only stopped playing because I got stuck on it and then left it for too long. Although a fair few of the games may be locked to 50hz (like DMC), so I may just end up emulating them.

I only owned a PS3 briefly before it broke, which was pretty annoying and I don't know if I can be bothered getting another one. I'll probably get a PS4 eventually.

Edit: Oh yeah and I have a PSP, which I got a year or so ago. Cool little console. Played P3P, Valkyria Chronicles 2, SotN, the fan-translated Digimon ReDigitize on it, as well as others and some PS1 games. I haven't played it much recently but I'm not close to done with it yet I think.

I've owned virtually every model of PSP at some point bar the last one they released which reinstated the UMD drive, I've has a PS3 slim and a super slim, a PS4 and a Vita.

Everything apart from Vita.

PS1 I didn't get until late 2000 when the PSone launched. Had moved away from Uni and played my flatmates copy of MGS. That sold it to me on it's own.

PS2 again I was a little late to the party and didn't pick it up until January 2004, but loved it.

PSP I was so stoked for that I got a Japanese launch model imported, which was amazing as it didn't launch here for another 8 months or so. Was the first system I ever softmodded and played so many ROMS and homebrew on it.

PS3 I got within a year of it's launch. I'd planned on holding off for MGS4, but got a good deal on it at the time.

PS4, again I think this was about 4 months after launch. Wasn't anything in particular I was interested in but MS had clearly strawberry floated themselves over and PS4 looked like the place to be (Turns out I was right).

PSVR - Bought in Summer 2017, about a year after it's initial launch and so far it's been the most transformative, exciting piece of gaming hardware I've owned since I got my N64.

PS5 - Possibly day one, but we'll see how we get on.

Just a PSP. I bought it from someone on here. It was OK I guess, not exactly a wealth of decent titles and I sold it on a few months later.

I don't have anything against Sony consoles, but I've always found other systems more appealing. Plus the controllers are always awful, and I can never find the right button because they're all triangles and hexagons and gooseberry fool. I guess you get used to it eventually.

Haven't got VR. Have had the other stuff. PlayStation has never been my main console, really. Bar PS1.

I did the same in terms of importing, can't remember if it was play-asia or Lik-sang but I got it with Ridge Racer and played it constantly. It's now so easy to softmod and it's great once you've done it.

PSP - played Liberty City Stories and sold it 3 months later.
PS Vita - played Tearaway, had PS+ for a while, played a bunch of those games, played Minecraft. Its still in the house somewhere.
