So, eurogamer did a great article on VR last week which is totally how I feel about it.

TL:DR - its not going to take off cos you look like a melon wearing it.

Because when I'm sitting hunched, unshowered, in only days-old sweat-stained underwear; alone in my darkened room, curtains drawn, screen glaring, eyes red and bagged; frowning through my 32nd consecutive hour of Sid Meier's Civilization V...

... I'm thinking, "gee, I sure would look silly if I were wearing an Oculus Rift."

You looked like an idiot when playing Wii Sports etc but I seem to remember that doing rather well.

Brilliant

Wii-U failed because it was a poorly thought-out console, not because of your reasons of 'because'.

I can't wait to see the turnaround from Photek if/when Microsoft announce a VR headset. ;)

That TLDR is stupid. This isn't Google Glasses, you aren't supposed to go out and strut your stuff down the street.

If the headset comes with a really long cable then you might do that by accident.

No turn around, this is Occulus Rift Thread not Morpheus so its not a some sort of fanwar jibe.

High-end GPUs are also something only gamers, specialists, and academics care about, but that is still a billion dollar industry. If one day VR crosses over into the public consciousness in a big way, then great, but it'll be fine even if that doesn't happen.

Exactly, I think it will have a loyal following but won't be mass market.

You think VR is a fad or will be unpopular because MS are not producing their own version. It doesn't matter if it is Occulus or Morpheus.

Do you think Hololens will be successful?

No the Wii was a fad that passed, like peddle pusher trousers and undercut haircuts.

Like Soda stream, the 'movement' shite was fad and I reckon VR will be put under same bracket in the pubic eyes. Plus, alone or not, you'll look like a tit with it on.*

*This is just my opinion, as is my opinion that VR headsets make everyone look like a complete tit, this is probably as close to a fact an opinion can be I reckon.

Yep, motion controls are definitely a fad that has well and truly passed. The Wii U GamePad, 3DS, Vita, Dualshock 4 and Steam Controller don't have motion controls in any way, shape or form. Even if they had motion controls, no game would possible take advantage of them. There aren't even games on the Wii U that support motion controls for the Wii remote.

Some people don't need a VR headset to look like a tit, they manage just fine without one.
