I remember buying Quackshot for my Megadrive from them in '91.
Fools sent me a Jap copy by mistake and made me pay the postage to send it back to them.
Who's laughing now motherbitch!

It was just a better TV that could access Teletext.

Digitiser was amazing, used to check it before school each day.

The Digi 2000 website was great when it came back recently as well, not as big a fan of the YouTube stuff that seems to be the focus now though

I ordered Resi 2 and Tekken 3 in pretty quick succession, although it was my friend/neighbour who was the member. I was 14 and BBFC ratings had recently kicked in, on Resi anyway. Used to enjoy reading the magazine almost as much as a ‘proper’ magazine.

I'm not sure if I ever read their magazine, I just remember the full page adverts.

That's no-context bait if ever I saw it.

I also had a tonne of boxed/bought Amiga Games, many from Special Reserve. I'm trying to remember how you paid for them... I was possibly getting my mum to phone up and place orders. Or possibly sending a cheque. strawberry floating hell, times have changed.

Holy gooseberry fool, yea I think I remember posting them a cheque in 1998.

Here's another ad from a 1996 issue of Play magazine:

Never used them. First of these mail order companies we used was Gameplay back in 1997. They had the best prices, no 'dodgy' subscription fees, and they had by far the most impressive looking ads. Just a wall of games that sometimes span 4 pages.

Always paid using Royal Mail POSTAL ORDER.

A Guyver Volume one anime or a Euro '96 football.

God I miss the mid nineties.

The humour reminded me a lot of PC Zone magazine. What I remember most of Digitiser though is them taking seemingly random potshots at both Official Nintendo and Official PlayStation Magazines. "PSM aren't stupid. They just think you are," was one such page. "Flight sims are for losers," was another line that has stuck in my mind.

I think the more cynical nature of Digitiser was partly lost on me at the time, but were it to exist today social media would be having a field day.

Digitiser definitely had something of an anarchist streak running through it which was part of the appeal.

They used to constantly wind up Amiga owners as well which was hilarious. I was an Amiga fan myself but even I could admit it was dead by the early 90s but some people just wouldn't believe it and those late years Amiga fans made the Xbox/PS fanboys of today look like amateurs when it comes to zealotry!

Chris did an interview with the guy who wrote digitiser (Mr Biffo) on the retrocollect podcast a few years back, it's worth a listen. I got him to ask about Mr. T's bins

If you think about it, you really wouldn't. It's just that time in your life you would want to go return to. The inconveniences compared to now would get on your nerves - banks closed at the weekends, pubs shut on Sundays, non-24 hour supermarkets, rudimentary internet, limited availability of certain games/films and a significant step back in healthcare.
