Marvel’s Spider-Man | PS4/PS5 (Remastered) Out now | PC August 12th

Hey True Believers!
We’ve just revealed the first big surprise from the Marvel Games team: an all-new Spider-Man experience, exclusively for the PlayStation 4! If you tuned in to PlayStation’s E3 press briefing we’re sure you’ve already felt the excitement. But if you missed it, there’s a first look up top at one of our most ambitious projects yet. Let’s go for a swing!
Now, to answer some of your Daily Bugle front page questions…
Why Spider-Man? Because when Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created Peter Parker, they broke the mold of what a Super Hero could be and set the bar by which all others would be judged. And that’s exactly what we plan to do with this game: break the mold and set a new bar of greatness for Marvel Games!
Why Insomniac? Insomniac is a perfect match for Spider-Man because not only are they world class game developers that make phenomenal story-driven experiences, but they also craft games bursting with personality, humor and most importantly: fun…just like Spidey!
Why PlayStation? The PlayStation 4 is one of the most exciting gaming platforms ever! But not only have they created a great gaming console, they also have an amazing line-up of first party titles and a community of the most passionate players that we are thrilled to join.
My game of E3, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, it's an original story so not tied into the new movie either (From the trailer it looks like Mr Negative will be one of the villains)

I wasn't too fussed about this when the rumours leaked last week, (I was worried this would be Sucker Punch's next game) as I'm not that into the webslinger in general, but man I *love* the vibrancy of the outfit, and find myself strangely looking forward to the game. I hope Insomniac can deliver a experience worthy of playing.

Genuinely can't wait to see more of this, Coming off the back of Sunset Overdrive makes me feel Insomniac will deliver a great experience. I do hope they add weather effects into this, swing around NYC in the rain

I hate the suit. The white parts look like when they have a new car coming out and they hide the details with coloured tape.

Suit aside the graphics in this look outstanding, gameplay also looks very fluid with a good range of animations.

I think keeping the white embalm, along with the bright-ish red and blue, helps keep him more front and centre than a black emblem with a deeper coloured suit would. I mean he'd still be front and centre with those, obviously, but this colour combination gives him more pop.
I'd have hated this suit in the comics in the '90s, but I prefer the bright and breezy look. And anyway, you just know we'll have options for other colour combinations.

I loved this. If they can make Spider-Man's movement fluid and action packed like this then I'm well on board for it.
Insomniac have decent pedigree for world traversal as well, combat is usually the issue they have.

This came as a surprise to me - I hadn't realised it was in development - and it looks great. I'd guess it could be a summer release so it's probably a year off, but I'm excited about it. And I like the suit
.

Jizzed myself watching that. Sunset Overdrive is a fantastic template for a Spider-Man game, this is really exciting news. Those goons are Mister Negative's henchmen, he's a great choice of villain as well. Not sure about the suit but it's something new.

Couldn't give a gooseberry fool about what the suit looks like.
If I knew the game was going to be good this would probably be the best thing at E3, as it is they've not shown enough yet (probably a good thing if its not coming for a while).
Cautiously optimistic about the game. I'd prefer to end up pleasingly surprised by it than disappointed its not that good.

Some information from Insomniac
Nope, this isn’t the same Spider-Man you’ve met before, nor is our game based on the upcoming movie. This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his absurdly chaotic personal life and career All while nine million New Yorkers depend on him for their safety… no pressure indeed.
This collaboration also allows us to quickly return to action developing on PS4. Having released Ratchet & Clank, we feel confident in our ability to create a showpiece for the console. And we’re downright giddy bringing Spidey’s acrobatic abilities, improvisation, and web-slinging to life. But we also want to introduce new elements that players have never experienced with Spider-Man, ranging from traversing with parkour and utilizing the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set-pieces.
I hope they feature some in-depth Peter Parker stuff, imagine if you can take photos and sell them to the Bugle. Be great if they also allow you to switch into costume on the fly......sounds like this has been in development for a while so I really hope they deliver.

Looks fantastic.
Not too bothered about the suit, I don't think it looks terrible or anything. Hopefully you can wear different ones like in previous games.

I wouldn't worry about the suit. I don't think I've ever played a superhero game that hasn't had the option to wear various outfits that the character has had over the years.
The game looks really good though, it's about time we started getting some Marvel based games.

I wonder what other villains will feature in the game? I would love to see Mysterio make an appearance, Insomniac can make some cool boss fights so they could do something great with him

He's always been my favourite Spider-Man villain
