Loved the new takes on the characters, especially Mayor Osborn and the slow build of Octavius becoming Doc Oc was very well done (probably my favourite version of him). Scorpion, Rhino, Vulture, Shocker and Electro's updated designs were all really cool and I loved the Venom tease at the end.

Bloody hell, Maf. You didn't fart around with that, eh. How long did it take you to complete?

 :fp: The tease must have flown way up over me. Will have to look it up.

Edit: Oh that! I was wondering what that was

Took about a week with a few hours a day, was shorter than I expected for an open world game like this. I did some of the side content but couldn't be arsed with most of that.

Onto the DLC now.

I found the side content to be pretty essential to level up the gadgets...if one were to be really struggling with the combat, say :shifty: Some of rucks towards the end are wild, the Sabre lot.

Aye I only really went out of my way to do the challenge stuff if there was a specific upgrade I wanted. I never really bothered with unlocking suits either because that Spider Bro drone skill seemed a bit overpowered.

If you mainline the story and avoid the side content (as Maf said he was doing) I think it's perfectly reasonable).

Yeah I reckon you could get through the whole story including DLC Watching all cut scenes in about 15-20 hours. Maybe 25 at a push.

They're not that long though, but be a couple of hours each at least.

Can’t understand why you’d want to rush rush rush through a game like Spider-Man tbh. It’s not as if the side content was crap, either.

I like that stuff as something to do when I don't want to concentrate too hard and feel good about ticking off lists but I totally understand why someone would skip it, it's very repetitive.

I’ve got the GOTY version of this on its way. And a PS4 Pro.

:toot:

Oh, the game's I'm gonna recommend  Not sure if I have you on friend's list already, (I may do from... Vita?) but PSN tag is SoKaioken20.

Have you played Transistor on anything? If not, get that.

Yeah, I think we’re on friend’s lists, from Vita and PS3 days. I’ve already got a list of exclusives that I figured I’d have to miss out on (and Transistor is now on that list). Really thought the PS4 was going to be the first PlayStation I didn’t own, so it’s pretty exciting!

EDIT: Back when I had PS Plus, I would add the PS4 games, just in case. So if I revive my sub I’ve already got stacks of games, including Transistor, ready to go.

Just finished the main game. Excellent from start to finish. I really liked the way they set up the next game, even if it was a bit obvious. A bit surprised to see the final trophy was named End Game. Had the Avengers film title even been announced when this game was released?!

I’d already got 100% in all nine districts, so I’ve just got six gold challenges to tidy up. Then the DLC. Might even go for a top-difficulty completion.

PostRe: Marvel’s Spider-Man | PS4 | Remastered version coming to PS5 as a ‘paid upgrade’
by ITSMILNER » Wed Sep 23, 2020 8:00 pm

It looks like no free upgrade to the PS5 remastered Spider-Man but perhaps a paid option might be available

https://kotaku.com/sony-confirms-theres-no-free-ps5-upgrade-for-ps4-spider-1845154011/amp?__twitter_impression=true

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is an enhanced version of Marvel’s Spider-Man, and is included as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 5. In addition, players who purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4 can upgrade at no additional cost to the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and can take advantage of a paid-upgrade to download Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered.

There are no plans currently to offer Marvel’s-Spider-Man: Remastered as a standalone. Players with a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 can purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered on PS5. Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 also will be backwards compatible on PS5.

btw, I know very little of the backstory. I was aware of Doc Ock from the Game Boy game (which I’ve still got!). Is all the stuff about Peter working for him canon?

No, I believe Peter's job and his mentorship from Doc Ock was an original idea for the game. And MJ working as an investigative journalist for The Daily Bugle too. I think they wanted to do something different rather than the standard high school kid getting bitten by a spider story-hence why he is older too. And it worked really well imo.

Good to know, cheers. I wouldn’t want to go around thinking I know the story, just because I’ve played one game! Bound to get caught out one day.

Neat way to tie it into the game’s story, though.
