The E3 where Sony focused on 4 games (2018?) they showed the whole Raft sequence

Ta.

O well. At least I didn't go out of my way to ruin it for myself  Would have been a really exciting turn of events if they hadn't already revealed it, but I wasn't expecting the scene to end like it did and so it still had an impact. Doc Oc feels legit dangerous.

I mean if you’ve even got the slightest idea of Spider-Man as a character the Doc Ock stuff is not going to surprise you, but I thought it was exceptionally well plotted and it would’ve been a shame if that had been ruined before the game was released.

I know bits and pieces about Spider-Man. I had no idea about their relationship (the scenes in the lab were so well done) and so also had no idea how much of a gut punch it would be seeing the doc turn like that.

Well yeah that was my point - it’s completely differently written from the source material, where those two characters have a vastly different relationship. I’d go as far as to say it’s the best written origin story for Doc Ock I’ve ever seen, it adds so much more than the comics and even Spider-Man 2. I don’t have a problem with the reveal of him on The Raft coming before release, but I’d have been gutted if I’d seen all the other stuff beforehand.

The stuff after The Raft is amazing: everything has ramped up and there's danger EVERYWHERE. Love it. Ignoring side missions, bases, etc. Sticking to main story now. Might pick up the season pass DLC if I don't feel burned out on it after I'm done with the story.

Why did Insomniac even bother having stealth sections with regular humans if they're weren't going to at least try and make them interesting?

Every AAA game has to have a stealth section, it's the law.

I actually liked the stealth sections :shifty:

It wouldn't have taken much more effort to at least make MJ investigating Osborn's apartment more interesting. (Set it during a rainy night, keep lights off and have Silver Sable, on her own, trying to hunt you down.)

I’m obviously biased because I strawberry floating *love* Spider-Man, but I only ever used the fast travel in this game once, to see the funny subway scene, and that’s as strong a recommendation as I can give for an open world game. That I actually wanted to spend as much time in the world as I could.

There are several underground scenes. Even it changed towards the end.

There’s an additional scene after you’ve done a certain mission which was a great touch.

The one with the two Spideys?

How the heck they didn't do the Spider-Man pointing meme during that mission I will never know.

Absolutely! Loved it.
I ended up catching the train a canny bit towards the end, sorry guys. Stayed in the skies during all the DLC though!

Wait what. I platinumed the game and I don't remember any of this.

You don't remember doing the Spider-Man mission where you're on the trail of a guy in a Spider-Man costume? If you caught the train after those missions, you'd get a train scene where the two Spideys are having a convo. (Fake Spidey sat all proper, Peter Spidey with folded arms and legs stretched out.)

I've caught it a few times even though I love swinging through the city. Hard not to make the case for the odd trip when it's so fast.

Nope. I can't even remember ( MASSIVE END GAME SPOILERS) May dying. Someone mentioned that on Resetera and I had to watch the end of the game on Youtube to confirm it actually happened.

You must have blitzed through side missions or something.

Retro suit cracks me up.

My favourite is Spidey nodding along to the music while in Spider-Punk outfit.
