Marvel’s Spider-Man | PS4/PS5 (Remastered) Out now | PC August 12th

Yeah not a fan of that new Peter Parker face, at all. I have to admit I thought the original looked a bit gooseberry fool as well but this is definitely a further step down.

The remaster comparison videos in general make the game look worse as well, the lighting is blown out and loses the detail and shading on the characters for example. Not a great start to the generation for Insomniac

'Remasters' like this really need to strawberry float off. Totally unnecessary and nothing but a shameless cash grab.

I remember the last (current) gen starting in much the same way. Tons of remasters (not remakes) during the first twelve months and plenty of cross-gen titles. I think that's the natural way of new consoles now. Things pick up, though, and maybe the optimal time to buy is eighteen months to two years into a generation; when prices have lowered and the range of cool dedicated games is there.

Yeah that was just a bit of hyperbole stuck on the end to tease the die hards

It’s a good way to educate the whippersnappers who haven’t played any of those games.

And I’m guilty of buying remasters of my favourite games. And I will continue to. Mass Effect trilogy? Yes please. Knights of the Old Republic? Oh lord yes. MGS? Give it to me now.

It’s here to stay, whether you like it or not.

What's happened here is that they've felt the need, or been compelled, to change the model from the Andrew Garfield-esque look it had when they first started developing five-odd years ago, and bring it more in line with the current cinematic Spider-Man's look. I think they should've just kept it the way it was. :fp:

I don't think he looks anything like Holland, I dislike it because it looks more like a real person, rather than the ever so slightly cartoon featured face he had before.

If only you spent the majority of the game with a mask on.

The issue is the scenes where he is Peter Parker, when he has interactions with MJ, also be interesting to see how he looks during the final few cut scenes when certain events happen

Yeah not keen on the new Peter Parker, there wasn't nothing wrong with the previous Peter.
Gameplay was a bit mixed, 60fps was nice but I still think the PS4 version is better.

I wonder if'll they'll fix puddle-gate for this remaster?
