I was quite taken aback when the vid started; IMHO it looked so dreary and dull compared to the tremendous style and colour of the previous games whilst the music was just dreadful. It was kinda turning me away from Splatoon 3 before I realised that the vid solely focussed on the Salmon Run (co-op mode).

I trust that the main mode will be vibrant and super fun as per the previous games!

The entire trailer was for a co-op horde mode that literally didn't exist in the first game

They haven't shown their hand yet with ranked mode. Hopefully we'll have some new ones.

There was something unpleasant about the whole thing for me. The music was horrible, the colours were drab and pretty gross looking.

take it you guys didnt enjoy that in the last one?

I didn't play any of the online stuff in Splatoon 2.

Splatoons ranking system is awful. Like seriously awful. You can't team up with anyone for a ranked match which is f**king stupid, even playing together online it will put you on opposite teams, it's luck wether you end up on same team. Every other online competitive mp game had this stuff sorted out f**king years ago. Nintendo, like Konami are horrendous when it comes to online anything!

You can team up in league but obviously that doesn't affect your rank.

But yeah, there's a lot of jank for sure. Hope 3 has a lot of QOL improvements.

It probably wasn’t the best part of Splatoon 3 to show off here on its own, probably could have done with a minute at the front of the trailer showing the other parts of the game then show that Salmon Run is coming back.

I do hope they don’t lock Salmon Run behind times slots again

They were worried about splitting the userbase. It's so popular though I don't think it's an issue.

It made me stop playing the game because I got too annoyed going on wanting to play the co-op and being told nope it was locked out and I couldn't play the game I had bought.

The Splatoon 2 Octo expansion is on sale on Switch again (30% off)

Do I pick it up and play it or do I just wait for this new instalment......

Pick it up!

Comfortably the best single player campaign so far. They drafted in some BOTW shrine designers for it, there's some extremely inventive stuff in there that's a lot of fun.
