Looking forward to the bluray release so hopefully someone recuts the whole trilogy into maybe a film or two that actually work...

It's a bit sad seeing people like "oh well it was badly written but a fun enough few hours" like that somehow makes it.. ok? It's a film that's meant to draw a line under a fourty year story being made by people who should be able to do a far better job than they actually managed, and people are like "well it didn't make a jot of sense but the setpieces were good" (and let's be honest, they weren't even that good. The Final Order fleet of planet-killing star destroyers that can't navigate themselves away from their stupid planet (how they didn't learn from "DON'T GIVE US ANOTHER strawberry floating DEATH STAR" after The Force Awakens is utterly baffling)? The stadium full of faceless nobodies here to see Palpatine on a robotic arm? )

I love Endgame but I'm not sure it's the best example from Disney's recent films or specifically the MCU, it unravels pretty quickly if you start pulling at it. I totally agree with you though, the obvious difference with Endgame is that they had invested in the big moment to give it weight and earned the emotional pay off. You would have thought that getting a coherent story written would have been the easiest part of making this Star Wars trilogy.
