I went for The Velvet Underground - Heroin.

I was going to do Joy Division - No Love Lost, but they don't seem to have that.

You need an invite code if you're not in the UK. The nice people on the last.fm Spotify group appear to have loads too...

Dave wrote:Anyone else using this? It's basically an online music service that allows you to stream a shit-tonne of music, and it's all perfectly legal. A YouTube for music, kinda. It also looks a lot like iTunes which means it's simple to use, and it's being touted as "the future of the music industry" by some folk, which must mean something, right?

Downsides? The free version interjects 20 second audio ads every 5 or so songs.

Upsides? It allows me to listen to Lady GaGa without having to buy it/do something illegal  ......

It's available here but it's in beta at the moment, but I have some invitations going spare and once you're in you'll also have 10 invitations to share with others. So be nice and share the wealth. If you fancy an invite just send me a PM and I'll dish them out first come first served.

EDIT: You can register without needing an invite here

Download music for free like normal people.. n00b

The adverts aren't as intrusive as I thought they might be. Well, except for the strawberry floating Swiftcover insurance one with Iggy Plop. So intensely bad, on all levels.

I love this thing. Just made a kickass playlist of late ninties / early noughties tunes. Nostalgia.

They have the two Goldmund albums on there, which is handy. Listening to Corduroy Road at the moment.

Drowned In Sound have made a playlist of their top 40 tracks of the year so far, just shows how handy it is. Rather than them just listing off these tracks that you'll never listen to, you can stream all of them instantly. Hope more sites do stuff like this.
