Not really. 70GB doesn't fit on a BluRay and I don't want to be switching between 2 discs.

For the record, the download parts don't require a code to be redeemed. So you can buy the game second hand as a physical release or sell it on and it remains the "full package" for the next person.

It looks like Spyro 3 might have had some crunch time too, as in the credits a second developer is listed for that game. That might explain why this release was delayed a bit.

Because what's the point in buying the disc if you're only getting 1/3 of the game?

I still buy physical releases but strawberry float that, when I get this it will be digital.

You get a gift voucher for Christmas and need to spend in a shop.
A store discounts the game to less than it is available digitally.
You have store credit.
You want to purchase a second-hand copy to save more money.
You like to lend games to friends.
You want to be able to trade it in when you're finished.
You work in a shop and get staff discount.
You're one of those people that likes boxes on shelves.

Just off the top of my head.

I kinda get why some people are pissed. Of course, I know someone who have it is well annoyed that he can't play the rest due to his shitty broadband speeds.

I’ve never played Spyro properly and I bought it yesterday but it’ll be for Christmas present.

Quite looking forward to play it. :)

:?

I don't mind there being discs (I own some myself), I just don't know why people are bothered about having to do patches or downloads and stuff. You have internet, right?

Probably concerned that it won't be accessible at some point in the future, if servers are shut off.

Or how about this, unless you plan on skipping the first game on the disc during your first play through why the strawberry float moan about parts of the 2nd and 3rd game downloading during your play through of the first game. Even with some sort of abysmal povo internet connection they should have downloaded by the time you've worked your way through the first game.

Jesus, It's nothing to do with time taken downloading. I have great Internet, couldn't give a gooseberry fool about download time. I'm mainly thinking long-term, and what might happen in the future if the servers are shut down, and games 2 + 3 become unplayable. But apparently I seem to be worrying for no reason, because most people trust that they will remain accessible.

No-one will be playing Spyro The Dragon Reignited in 20 years time or whenever this imaginary server shut-down happens. Just play it and have fun, and stop worrying about things like this that will have literally no impact in your life.

Unlike Nintendo, Xbox (and Playstation afaik in regards to BC next gen) have gone the full hog with backwards compatibility, even enhancing some them further with the X which they will obviously continue to support into further generations. Unless of course they manage to strawberry float up Xbox Two.

They don't have a spyro game server somewhere just for this, it is all built into the Xbox live system or playstation system with have now been running for your.

Either you are very mistaken on how stuff runs or your being paranoid but in the case of Xbox the systems been running since the start of Xbox 360 it isn't going anywhere fast.

Stop worrying about stuff and get on with life.

This isn't like an online game server being shut off, this being unavailable would only happen if the cdn (store) was shut down and the only company to do that on a console upgrade is Nintendo, because Nintendo.

Yeh they don’t shut off those servers. As long as Microsoft or Sony run an online web store then they’ll be available in your download history/patches when you put a disc in

I guess your biggest worry would be Sony shutting their store down

I'm sure they do. Whether they'll be playing a remaster of an already 20 year old game in 20 years I have some doubt. Besides, as long as you already downloaded the content you can play for as long as your hard drive survives.

There is a theoretical chance that someone in the distant future finds a disc copy of this game, dusts of the old consoles and is disappointed that the patch is no longer available. But I don't think it will be a particularly regular occurrence.
