It's my birthday tomorrow, so I'll be getting rather sloshed. Just not on Guinness.

Scotty it's bad enough you pretend to be Scottish for most of the year. Now you're pretending to be Irish too?

Easy night tonight, watching the F1 qualification tomorrow inbetween some gardening, and then probably the same on Sunday. Might take the newly-upgraded car out for a b-road blast on Sunday too, if the weather's ok.

I'm getting the train up to Edinburgh tonight and spending all day getting drunk with my mates. Going to be the first proper St Patrick's Day we've had since leaving uni a few years ago since it's on a Saturday this year.

Personally I 'celebrate' it even though I'm Scottish because over the years it has been a great day to spend hanging out with my friends. Just in the same way that I celebrate Christmas by being with my family even though I'm not religious.

They would if we could somehow shoehorn strippers and a foam party into a national celebration.

I'm going to see my Mum & Dad for a post 40th birthday/St Paddies day knees up. Hope Ireland will beat England in the Rugby and I'll get pissed. I know she (mum) is cooking 2 chickens and two legs of lamb so there will be loads of nosh. Plenty of beer too.

Anyone else notice the pic in the OP? None of them are actually drinking pints.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has paid tribute to Irish larrikinism and its influence on Australia - joking that, without it, Australia would be just like New Zealand.

I don't know if that is an insult.

Just another day for me, I don't enjoy the chaos that St Patricks day brings to Belfast. strawberry floating students everywhere being utter banana splits.

I'm gonna seek solace in my house, have a few Saturday night beers and maybe have the sex.
