Watched the finale last night... that was really great!

It's a pity the season wasn't a bit longer, but it's been thoroughly enjoyable and the quality of the eps have been high, so can't complain! Can't wait for season 2!

Only slight nitpick
Kirk actor was totally fine, but I would have liked a little bit more resemblance to a young Shatner; like they did with Spock. Speaking of which, raised a chuckle when Spock raised a quizzical eyebrow. Also, Scotty was a nice touch!

Just announced at San Diego Comic-Con, in Strange New Worlds' second season—which already has enough on its Trek plate to deal with thanks to the return of Captain Kirk! Again!—will feature a Jonathan Frakes-directed crossover between Trek's newest show and its animated darling, Lower Decks. Although we don't know how they're going to show up a century in the past yet (it's Star Trek, it won't be that hard), Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome will reprise their Lower Decks roles as Ensigns Bomiler and Mariner, announcing the news after crashing almost literally into Anson Mount's appearance at the Star Trek Universe panel this afternoon.

Quaid and Newsome will be voicing their roles, rather than physically starring as live-action versions of their Lower Decks heroes, too: the special episode will feature a hybrid of live-action and animation to make one of the most unlikely of Star Trek team-ups to ever happen, well, actually happen.

Thank you Monkey Man. :D

Can't wait for this.

So there's a time-travel to modern Earth looking sort of episode. My money is on that one potentially being the cross-over with Lower Decks.

In series two of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories, and encounters new life and civilisations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies.

It's been a decent return to this, but I'm not quite as stoked on it as I was Season 1. I'm wondering how much of that is to do with the first season following the interminable Picard S2 and so seeming even better by comparison, whereas this is following on from S3 of Picard which was just amazing.

First two episodes were great, but I felt the third was a little less fun.

Episode 3
I'm just not sure on Kirk yet. I like that he's not doing Shatner, but he doesn't have that cheeky playfulness that Kirk does. Pine managed to find it, so I'm hoping they can here as well.

Though I hate that we keep going back to the Khan well. I'm hoping that with this episode Laan can move on and we don't need to talk about him again.

Always nice to see the Temporal Investigations people as well.

Odd that Kirk can't handle a revolving door but was somehow able to figure out how to start, drive and then have a chase in a Muscle car.

I'd like to get back to something more traditional next week, but I'm expecting Gorn antics soon.

I really loved this week's episode. The chemistry between the two main characters was great.

Really enjoyed this weeks. Great fun and an episode that both felt and at times looked like an old TOS story. Wonderful.
