It just sucks that they won't have any 4K HDR content available at launch.

Which means that until they do I'll continue to be a scurvy space dog...

EDIT: Just found out that the first three episodes will be available from the 22nd, with subsequent episodes being added each Wednesday.

I guess they want to drip feed it for the UK audience so people don't pay for a months sub, watch all of it then cancel, but they really should just drop all the episodes at once given they started so damn late.

Yeah I think you've got that spot on. They're doing the same with Halo apparently.

Has anyone managed to get Paramount+ working on Now TV yet?

Not yet. Had it working on PC last night, but need to try the apps later on today once I finish work.

Though the android app refused to open for me, but that might just be because I wasn't on WiFi at the time.

It's still not nworking for some reason.
Maybe it's locked until a certain time?

Still nothing.

I may have to sign up to the amazon free week after all.

Downloaded the Paramount + app on my Samsung TV. Pretty underwhelmed with the offerings.

Yeah the overall selection isn't huge, although there is some good stuff on there. Yellowjackets was really good when I watched it earlier on this year.

Main issue I have with it is that everything I would potentially watch, I've already seen.

Movie selection is "ok" as well, but nothing spectacular. I expect them to get Top Gun Maverick on there as soon as they can.

I'll show my wife later on and she can pick through it, but right now I'm not expecting to continue it past the free-trial.

That might change when 4K streams are added and shows like Yellowjackets, SNW, Discovery and Prodigy get new seasons though. Next year should be better for it.

They don't even have the two most recent Halloween films on there.

Lots of weird omissions as well I thought. Lots of things where random movies in a series are missing.

The Friday The 13th movies for example seem to be missing a few. Same with Paranormal Activity. I think Transformers and Mission: Impossible weren't all there either.

I'm guessing a large part of it is going to be down to existing streaming deals and they'll probably appear over time.

I’d imagine a lot of the omissions are down to rights issues - for example NCIS is a Paramount show but rights for streaming appear to be owned by Disney at the moment. I’d imagine as rights come up for renewal and expire, the service will get more stuff added to it.

I'm a little behind, but, man, this episode was great! Really surprised at the dark turn! Was not expecting that!. Excellent stuff.

It wasn't quite the outcome I was expecting either. I mean it's obvious pretty early on that the "ascension" isn't going to be good for the kid, but you expect that they'll stop it at least. So yeah, grim stuff.

Easily my favourite episode so far I think.

Agreed.

I was shocked they actually showed the drained lifeless body!

Someone has buggered up at Paramount and put episode 8 on the UK app after episode 3.

Episode 8: Another good one.

Glad to get an Mbenga focused episode. Also great to get a straight up "silly" episode. Loved all the alter-egos, especially Anson Mount who was clearly having a ball.
Really good to see Hemmer get a decent amount to do. Really enjoyed him playing up the "magic".

I was surprised they wrapped up the plot about Mbengas daughter so early on in the show. Not entirely sure how I felt about it, but I think it works overall.

Can't believe we've only got two more episodes to go. Unlike Discovery or Picard, this one really could benefit from the longer, more traditional 24-26 episode run. I just want more.

Gonna miss it once its done. :(

Aw no, didn't realise this only goes to ep10 :(

Watched ep7 today, obv not up to previous ep; was quite corny, though still decent. Quite liked the Angel character even if bit overblown. Good end to the ep as well!

BTW, was the green pirate the Scottish bloke who used to be in Eastenders and was in the last Batman film?

Damn that was such an amazing episode. Nearly bought me to tears with that ending.

Ep 8 was a lesser episode for me. Liked the sentiment behind it and the cast were clearly enjoying it, but it just felt a bit cheap. Seemed odd that storyline was wrapped so quickly too.
