Tried out the co-op mode with a couple of friends last night. It was a blast. I do hope they incorporate the OT to the mode.

Co-op on Felucia and Naboo is tough as nails. It's easy to get overwhelmed, and the new enemy A.I. is solid.

I can easily see the mode get all era representation by next summer.

We fared pretty well on Felucia, but yep Naboo is an absolute bastard!

It's pretty much just Turning Point, but only going in one direction. The same level of simplification that Cargo, Extraction and Sabotage underwent when they were turned into Strike.

Played some more co-op last night/this morning. It's a lot of fun.

Finally beat Naboo.

Bossk is the key. With an officer who can recharge his abilities he's nearly unstoppable.

New heroes for TRoS update are BB-8 and BB-9E.

New FO Jet Trooper skin and weapons.

New Resistance reinforcements, Spy and Gunner (see trailer).

New First Order reinforcements, the Sith Trooper and Jet Trooper (again, trailer) all of whom wield new weapons and have new abilities.

Co-op and Capital Supremacy modes coming to the Sequel Trilogy, to be fully rolled out by April. OT era expected (though not announced) to follow.

New hero outfits for Finn, Kylo & Rey.

New TRoS map is the as-yet unnamed jungle planet.

Wait, BB-8 is a playable hero..?
But he's tiny! That sounds like Goldeneye Oddjob all over again.

They're about the size of Yoda, and mark an interesting change from standard blaster and saber heroes. I was initially against them, but hell, why not?

They'll fulfill a support role, and won't be going around slaughtering everyone.

I went back to this the other night in order to get ready for the new film, and it's basically how it should have been at launch.

Not sure why people like Capital Surpremacy though - goes on for absolutely ages with orogrss regularly being reset, and it feels like nothing you do is really making that much of a difference. I guess that's typical Battlefield/Battlefront though.

Still, it was enjoyable, and the game is as visually pleasing as everyone. Feels proper Star Warsy. It's a shame it was a beacon for all the attacks on lootbox culture (which it definitely deserved it is launch state) as it's a solid, enjoyable game to just play.

Saying that, taking a big break does mean that almost everyone else has the good cards now. Leveling up still feels quite slow, and only really made progress on the Heavy.

It also seems like the best players are just permanently Heroes now. Never get killed and just rack up the points constantly. The Heroes are by far the worst thing about the game, and should really be in a timer or rotated at spawn.

If you're worried about leveling up, there are Double XP days every week, and triple XP days monthly. It doesn't take long at all to level up on those days.

Capital Supremacy's alright, but it could use some Phase 2 objective variety.

May pop the game in for the new content launch, played the game in the summer of 2018 and actually thought the game was really good.
Looking forward to see how far it's come since, I'll have to resub to PS Plus though

I bought the game a couple of months ago when it was dirt cheap and I quite enjoyed it for a few hours. Unfortunately I had to delete it when I saw it took up 120GB on my PS4 and we had no room to download anything else. :fp:

TRoS content is live now. Don't know if intentional or accidental, but everything is live. Rey's new face model, new reinforcements, new map, everything.

All new units and such are available in every mode with sequel maps.

Played a bit more of this last night. Yeah, Heroes are just ridiculous still, moreso now, as the best players have been playing all this time, have all the purple cards and just can't be killed. They basically get the Hero first, then stay as it for the rest of the game. And then they swarm control points and normal soldiers don't have a chance, even in a group.

It's good to reward players, but the problem is it just widens the game between those who play a lot/are good and the casual/returning players. Cycling it around would be much better, or having a time limit.

I really wish they'd just remove Heroes from certain game modes all together. Enjoying it when I'm not getting hacked to death by a lightsaber though.

The community's been asking for a hero queue system like in the original games for a long time now. I don't see it happening, but apart from OT & ST Capital Supremacy, the new year's content is unknown, so it might happen.

I tend to just play Heroes vs Villains if I want to play a hero. But that means it's all but impossible to achieve certain milestones, like Iden's godawful pulse rifle, or getting a 5 person hit with Luke's push.

Apparently, co-op is a solid way to earn XP.

Ewok Hunt is a great way to earn credits.

If I don't have ps plus can I still play this offline? I know there is a single player campaign but can I use bots for other modes?

Wish my image sig would work

Instant Action is purely with bots, and the closest this game will ever get to a standard conquest mode. Arcade is also fun for team deathmatches, and is currently the only way to access all eras offline.

The singleplayer campaign is pretty short, should've been spun off into a separate release and really expanded upon, but the locations are nice, the characters are alright, and you get a badass Lando mission.

I can relate to what Parksey was saying about how the spectrum between Battlefront devotees and returning players has widened considerably; though not as bad in my recent experience, dealing with fully upgraded heroes are incredibly obnoxious most of the time and are just so tiresome to deal with.

If ever you get into the throne room on Naboo in Galactic Assault, it essentially becomes a match of Heroes vs Villains.
