In a way, yes. The first to fifty on the ground gets to attack the cruiser, with an extra 20 for boarding the transports before the phase switch. If those reinforcements run out while in the cruiser, the ground phase begins again. The progress within the cruisers doesn't reset, but if the defenders manage to hold the line each and every time, it can result in a never-ending match until one teams wins out.

By the time the Clones pushed us back onto the Seppy ship (the third ship-board action of the game), I was willing them to win, just to get it over with.

Seems like the only way to end a game is for one side or the other to destroy both of the opposition's ship weak points. Kinda like how Galactic Assault, Strike matches etc can theoretically go on for a long time when one side keeps the overtime meter running but can't quite scrape out a win.

I get now, after playing, why starfighters aren't included in this mode, but tbh I think they could still work, and provide alternative ways of winning.

Here's a video of mine showing the clones performing a one-two-three on the droids and not going back to the surface to take command points again. Also features some arcade at the end with Anakin and Dooku.

  • Kashyyyk will become the second Capital Supremacy map on April 24th. Looks like now the game mode is out there, it's pretty easy for the team to wed it to different pre-existing maps. May, June etc may also get new maps - I'm hoping for Naboo.
  • April 26th-28th is going to be a triple xp weekend for Heroes Vs Villains and Hero Showdown. A great time to level up some more heroes - here's hoping to get a chance to level up Anakin some more.
  • Player population is now as high as it was in the game's launch month.
  • DICE hinting just hours after the Clone Wars S7 trailer drop that they have "a lot of work to do." Ahsoka & Ventress would be a fair bet for the next duo of heroes and villains, though I'd prefer Rex and Cad Bane.
  • No word on brand new maps, but it's likely that something along the lines of Coruscant is on the way, as well as an Episode IX map or two. I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Supremacy (Snoke's ship) added in - the spectacular burning backdrop, everything going to hell. It's an ideal location.

That's impressive and surprises me. Highlights how I really don't play games like other people seem to

They took DICE at their word about it being a non-linear mode, took one play of it and were hooked and continued to play/disappointed it wasn't fully conquest and left.

I certainly wouldn't mind a Coruscant map that took in more than the Jedi Temple [though having a map similar to the 2005 one for smaller modes would be fun], but I really want to see a return to the snowy ruins type of map. Clone Wars era could really do with one [and I really want to see a rematered Rhen Var Citadel].

Whoa, that seems extreme. But certainly an easy way to grind experience on units.

It's easily the best way to grind xp on speeders, whose presence in Galactic Assault maps is spotty at best.

I'm keen to give Capital Supremacy a go so I've bought the PS4 version as my Love subscription lapsed but I have Plus until 2021. Here we go again :toot:

First minute I didn't understand what the problem was. Then when they were all together inside the building - yup. Major troll by the game.

Yeah the first bit I was trying to get them all in view to make sure I wasn't going crazy. The feeling you get when Anakin vanishes from sight ahead of you, only to turn up behind you moments later, is disconcerting. Took a while to find them all together, and confirm what the match was making me think.

Just glad I'm not going crazy tbh.

Confirmed for this year in the new Community Transmission:

  • Droidekas!
  • Republic hover tanks!
  • General Skywalker skin for Anakin!
  • Clone Scouts (212th Recon Division & 41st Scout Battalion)!
  • Felucia, designed for CS!
  • Theed comes to CS!
  • More offline stuff (CS?)!
  • New emotes earned through weekly community quests!

No word on Ahsoka or Ventress, though. Kind of expected to hear about them today, but even so, this is a huge day for the game. So many people's wishlists are being filled up.

Source.

See below tweet thread for early videos and pics of Droidekas, tanks, new troopers and more.

Oh, wow. That's a lot of content. I assume they won't be mentioning Ahsoka and Ventress until August. They know those two are wanted, so all that needs to be said is that new content is coming. Felucia is a perfect planet to be introducing, though I hope they can at least add Christophsis as well before moving to the sequel trilogy content [if that's the plan].

Christophsis is boring, ugh, no! :x Umbara is where it's at, man. Although, that being said, I fully expect them to go Utapau and Mygeeto and straight ignore my favourite battlefield of the war. :(

Moving ahead, I don't expect to get very much more Clone Wars content than Felucia, the two new Clone batches, and Ahsoka & Ventress. The Mandalorian and IX's upcoming release will probably mean that content deriving from them will be the team's next big focus.

I would very much like to see the game march headlong into the OT era with a Jedha City map, as the era's first Capital Supremacy map: A desert urban combat zone similar (but far from identical) to Mos Eisley, it would be very well suited to just about every ground-based game mode, and it would be the perfect way to introduce the Imperial Hover Tank (which also debuted in Jedha City scenes in Rogue One), as well as OT Infiltrators the Purge Troopers (of various recent SW comics and the upcoming Jedi: Fallen Order) and Rebel Pathfinders (the ragtag commando unit also from Rogue One).

From there, I like to think that we'd go to an updated Scarif map (with both Krennic & Jyn added as heroes), then a couple of OT maps already in the game (or from BF2015) are turned into CS maps, and then we jump over into the Sequel era. By this point, sequel Infiltrators and additional heroes and villains should be much more evident.

God, I wish EA would let DICE enlarge the Battlefront team. The player base has been completely revived - the time to pour fresh resources into it is this year and next.

Okay, Umbara would be an excellent choice. I'd completely forgot about it. Unfortunately, we won't get any clone vs Umbaran action, although it'd be fun if the droids had some of the same lighting as the planet.
