I would be happy to see the regular droid army on Umbara. Give them some Umbaran weapon emplacements for effect (like the Rebel turrets on Hoth) and as far as I'm concerned we're good to go!

A perfect planet choice, that fits both Capital Supremacy and Galactic Assault. It needs to happen.
Besides, who's to say there weren't droids on the surface during the early phases of the battle.

There were droids fighting alongside the Umbarans high up in the world's atmosphere, so it's not hard to imagine them on the surface, distributing supplies, keeping the local government in line, hardening weak points in the Umbaran defenses.

If I had my way (and I won't), I'd add Umbara as a Starfighter Assault stage as well, with Fives in the Umbaran Starfighter as the hero to accompany the map.

That would be awesome to see. They should be able to go all-in with these maps, adding them to as many modes as possible, and Starfighter Assault certainly makes sense for Umbara.

I'm sure we'll see Felucia and subsequent worlds added to every game mode under the sun, even though it's being designed ground up for CS.

The problem with Starfighter Assault is, well, there's nobody to develop for it. Most of the initial BF2 team was moved over to BFV in the months following the launch debacle and subsequent controversies, and Criterion, which developed the mode, isn't involved in the game at all any more.

DICE is doing its best, God knows they're putting out as much great content as they possibly can, but as long as the team remains small, its resource allocation a pittance, one new world per year seems like all we're going to get.

EA can't be blind to the player numbers and stuff.

I do think we're going to have to accept the small team, since I highly doubt EA would give resources to Battlefront 2 when they could make a third and profit from that. And hopefully not make the same mistakes again. It certainly would be great to get a larger team and have better support once again, but we'll just have to see what happens in the coming months.

I admit, I would buy a third Battlefront in a heartbeat if it came with all of BF2's content and mechanics right off the bat.

I'd certainly do the same. With Rise of Skywalker out by the time it'd probably be released [I assume 2020, though there's every possibility of being a 2021 game], they'd easily be able to use whatever sequel trilogy content they wanted for it.

Word on the street has it that Jedi: Fallen Order is occupying the release slot BF3 was originally intended to fill. Assuming JFO gets some DLC content next year, I don't think that we'll see BF3 this gen. Early next gen, maybe playing a similar tech demo role to BF2015, seems likely.

I just want the devs to approach it with all the lessons of this game in hand. The potential is huge for it to be everything fans want.

And, to your earlier point, I don't feel like I can accept the small BF2 team. The game is resurgent, its player base is booming - an expanded team and more resources would surely go a long way toward placating the player base with an increased flow of content, while the BFV team hopefully moves on to BF3.

Oh, certainly. There's a lot I wish we could get, including some new barely seen planets like what they did with Sullust in the last game. I feel that would certainly excite a lot of fans.

I wouldn't mind seeing Boz Pity, an Outer Rim Siege world only mentioned by name in RotS, but never seen.

Wouldn't mind a Starfighter Assault map on Cato Neimoidia either, flying around those hanging cities.

Most of the stuff I really want now is stuff I think should be doable. There won't be any CS going on outside the PT maps though, but within the PT framework, there are multiple likely heroes and worlds.

Can't wait for August's update, very curious as to what this "new way to play" will entail.

Resurgence for the game, I think, thanks to this roadmap update.

Command post spawning is being added to capital supremacy (and hopefully other modes sometime after), and Instant Action/Conquest returns for solo play (even if it's only on the maps of Capital Supremacy for now). There's also a new co-op mode being added, and Rise of Skywalker will see some representation in the game in December. Felucia hits next month, as does the Clone Commando reinforcement, and some droid appearances during this month. For the rest of this year, it's a content blowout. When we get into the next, I should hope that it will continue.

It's a damn good Community Transmission. I'm super excited, especially for the Battle Droid skins coming next week.

RoS content was inevitable - they're contractually obligated to make it - but it'll be great to see Sith Troopers and Resistance Commandos enter the fray as reinforcements, followed by the new map later on, and presumably new heroes Poe and Hux (they've gotta add them in!).

Clone Commandos look great, Felucia is arriving earlier than anyone expected, Farm Boy Luke skin will finally hit, the new PvE stuff skins neat, and the changes to Capital Supremacy sounds super promising.

New front menu system allowing players to play the era of their choice arriving later in the year, too.

I'm on the verge of buying this on Xbox. It's about £6 right now in the sale and I have promotional credit expiring in a few weeks. I don't really have time to play it though :(

You can get two games of Capital Supremacy done in an hour, or three or games of Instant Action when that comes around. That same number applies to Galactic Assault as well. As long as you have an hour to give to it every so often, I'd say it's worth it, especially at that price.

Thanks! I'll probably grab it at that price

Is it less grindy now too? I played the beta so have no reference since launch.

Many people here playing on Xbox?

How much free harddrive space do you have? It's a Red Dead 2 size right now.

It's a bit less grindy - every Wednesday it's Double XP, right now, and triple XP occasionally comes by. All the heroes are free now IIRC so you don't have to worry about buying them, just the skins.

There's also currently a triple XP event running throughout now to the 25th to work on levelling all those units. Levelling the regular troops is easy, since you can always use them, but heroes - unless you go to the hero-only modes - will take forever to get levelled as the chances of actually grabbing one are slim. None of this matters if you stick to the arcade (and I guess Instant Action when it comes) as all cards are unlocked at highest level for the modes.

The credit rewards for playing matches are still bad, but you at least get a bonus when you level up, and there's plenty of credits to be got through the challenges, so getting enough for a few of the clone skins or even a hero skin shouldn't be that bad.

And yes, I'm on Xbox [though I did recently get the PC version from Origin for super cheap during the summer sale].

Cool sounds good! I have over half my X storage free because I only play the few games I play at any one time installed. Should be enough space hopefully. I guess all the updates are via updates rather than DLC packs?

I'm not so bothered about skins. It was mostly being wary grinding for gear to be competitive but it sounds like none of that exists now and it's literally cosmetic?
