Yes. Since everything's free, it just gets updated into the game for everyone to enjoy.

And as I said, you'll need to level up each character individually to unlock new cards to be using, but getting to a decent level for the standard troops shouldn't be that difficult during this triple XP event.

Gameplay footage of the new Co-op and Instant Action modes being captured at DICE today, to release tomorrow. Features the Clone Commando.

DarkRula wrote:... but heroes - unless you go to the hero-only modes - will take forever to get levelled as the chances of actually grabbing one are slim. None of this matters if you stick to the arcade (and I guess Instant Action when it comes) as all cards are unlocked at highest level for the modes.

The credit rewards for playing matches are still bad, but you at least get a bonus when you level up, and there's plenty of credits to be got through the challenges, so getting enough for a few of the clone skins or even a hero skin shouldn't be that bad.

Heroes are very easily leveled up if you play Heroes Vs Villains regularly, which is now basically just a Team Deathmatch with heroes.

It can get quite frustrating though, as evenly balanced matches aren't as common as they should be, so one side is usually pounding the other. The matchmaking issues the game has there are constantly brought up to the devs.

Credit rewards for Capital Supremacy are awful, but that said, level up opportunities for troopers, speeders and reinforcements in that mode are excellent.

If earning money for skins and such is your main concern, go for Heroes Vs Villains, Galactic Assault, Strike, Ewok Hunt, the Starfighter modes, etc. Doing the Daily Challenges is a guaranteed 1500 credits as well, on top of the Daily Crate's 500, if you can do it.

It's all just cosmetic stuff. Star Cards always help though, but it's not hard to unlock them.

Clone Commando menu shot "leaked."

I wish there was another Clone Commando game. EA should have let the Dead Space team work on it :fp:

As much as I'd love to continue the adventures of Delta, I wouldn't mind if a new squad was created for a new game. But EA really messed up in not having a decent amount of their teams working on stuff [that they didn't then cancel]. Criterion could have been pulled off their project earlier to work on a Star Wars Racer instead of giving it another few years before then handing them off to DICE to work on the ship combat of the second game.

And speaking of Criterion - what are they doing now? Have they gone back to that project of theirs and restarted it? Are they doing something else? Who knows, but I doubt they're working on anything Star Wars at current.

I believe Criterion has been working on Battlefield, but I could be wrong.

I had looked it up, and they were on Battlefield V's Battle Royale mode - Firestorm. That released in March of this year, so I guess they've been passed on to someone else to help with something new. Pretty unfortunate they can't get back to making full games on their own again, but better to still be around than be shuttered for good. It at least shows that EA have confidence in them.

Oh, then it that case I'd put money on something next gen. Probably not Battlefront 3, as that game hasn't even begun development.

Hopefully we'll know during E3 next year. They only have years years left of the licence left unless it gets renewed, so we'll just have to see if there's anything for the end game.

I think that EA should get a non-exclusive Star Wars license, allowing other developers a shot while EA/DICE continue with Battlefront and such.

If the development of next gen BF3 takes to heart every lesson learned from BF2, from gameplay to units to game modes, it'll be a phenomenal game.

I do long for more Extraction stuff, though. So much potential going unfulfilled; assuming control of droids like R2 and C-3P0 like in 2015, extracting captured and floating shackled heroes like Obi-Wan or Dooku, nods to the Clone Wars with Blue Shadow Virus vials etc.

Obi-Wan's Defensive Rush ability has got a new animation and it looks fantastic. Much better than the marching band-esque run he has right now. You can see it in this video (not sure where):

There definitely is much more potential you can get from the series if DICE are up for the challenge. Not just with Extraction.

If they gave the dev team the resources it needs, I'm sure they'd make a game that lives up to its obvious potential.

Look at what they're doing with like 100 people, compared to what the Battlefield dev team, which is so much bigger, is up to.

I’m not sure if I’m playing bots or people are that bad at this game but I was getting kill streaks all over the place in my first match and up to about level 9 already

What mode were you in? Capital Supremacy has bots, with CT or R names depending on the faction, as does Starfighter Assault, but the others are bot-free.

Either way, nice job! The bots can be a real challenge at times. Been offed by a few recently.

Yeh I think it may have been capital supremacy. Whatever is the large main tile on the main menu! We didn't win the match however even though we dominated the first half of the game. The match balancing seems a bit off which was something I noticed in the beta.

The balancing in the cruiser phase always seems to favor the attackers. Hopefully this update coming stops that from being too much of a problem.

Any mode with defined attacking/defending roles has such a problem.

Can confirm that the upcoming updates will add command posts to ships and alter the way the ship phase plays out. Fingers crossed it helps!

I'm just waiting for a credit payout fix - I don't play CS much due to the low reward rate.

This Jet Trooper design is almost certainly coming to the game in November.

Talking of credits, what can you do with them? I've amassed just under 100,000 credits and can't see where to use them? I remember in the beta I bought loot crates with them but that doesn't appear to be an option now when I visit the loot crate area, only that I have no daily crates to open.

Go to the Collections screen on the main menu to use them.

They buy emotes and skins for the various factions' troopers and heroes. Emotes are 2k each, a lot of Clone skins go for 5k, other faction trooper skins go for 20k, but where heroes are concerned, 20k, 40k and or 80k are all typical price points.

I'm working my way through buying the 40k hero skins; my next ones will be for Dooku, then Obi-Wan, then finally Anakin. Then it's on to the 80k skins, and also the new Farmboy Luke skin coming next month.

I haven't spent any credits for a while. Last time I did was to get some of the clone skins when they first came out. I don't think I've bought a hero skin in forever. Might finally dive to get The Clone Wars skins of Obi-Wan and Anakin now that I'll be playing more.

No word on Ahsoka & Ventress as heroes yet, but due to the RoS season's imminence, I think they're more likely to appear in February 2020 to celebrate TCW S7's release than arrive with Felucia next month, as was originally expected.

I think they might add Coruscant to the game next year, after the RoS season. As the most requested map, it's kind of inevitable that it'll be added, it'll probably happen for Empire's 40th anniversary.

I would also expect a Scarif map next year, too, as well as new reinforcements for the OT era - Shadow Troopers, Rebel Pathfinders, Commandos etc.

The Dark Side needs support heroes badly - Admiral Trench, Director Krennic and General Hux would make a great trio to really balance the two sides.
