Don't do it, you get the chance after the game is finished to do that.

Unless fast travel opens up though I might as well do it before so I have health bonuses for the final boss.

I beat the final boss 1st time. Easier than I expected. I struggled more with earlier bosses but the end gives you a good warm up to the final boss.

Complaining about backtracking in this is like complaining about backtracking in a Metroid game. Revisiting old areas with new abilities is literally one of the defining aspects of the genre.

That's a very good point and one that I think has convinced me that this game is just bad.

I think the big difference is that in games like Metroid and Castlevania, the backtracking is acceptable because the gameplay is so good and exploring the environment is so fun.

In this game, the backtracking only highlights everything lacking in its shallow and uninspired design from repetitive combat to the dull traversal of worlds that are only interesting the first time you visit them. If you can't create an interesting enough environment with fun/deep enough gameplay, then you shouldn't be making something inspired by the Metroidvania genre.

I backtracked for hours more than I needed to in Bloodstained (and of course, any number of Souls games) but that's because that was a 10/10 game and it was a joy to go back to previously explored areas multiple times.

The backtracking, the map, the puzzles, the upgrades and lore, the isolation... Fallen Order is honestly just Star Wars Metroid.

I'm only 3 or 4 hours in but I am absolutely loving the fact it is Star Wars Metroid.

I seem to remember that Metroid Prime does have a shortcut that takes you from the “end” of a section to your spaceship.

This game doesn’t even have that. And one of the planets, Zeffo, have three “end” points and you still have to get there from the start, with no shortcut whatsoever.

It's usually a bit easier each time, though, as you'll acquire upgrades between each visit that unlock shortcuts and the like.

Does anyone know if there are any announcements regarding this getting a PS5 patch or anything?

Ah well, my brother was thinking of picking up the PS4 version I think so was asking me about it, but as far as I could tell from a bit of Googling about the only thing it seemed to have gotten was a framerate boost, but thought I'd ask and double check.

Thanks!

I think loading times are significantly reduced as well.

The load times are painful on my PS4 Pro.

I just arrived at the ice planet. How far from the end am I?

Not far off at all. Nothing stressful until the final world, anyway.

So, after the go here then go here then go here to get the list quest the end result is...Cal destroyed it anyway? :slol:

I guess it was about the friends we made a long the way. Well one friend. That weird witch who randomly changed from a supernatural horror to chilling on the ship with the odd funny line.

If you can't chill with a horror, you need to reevaluate your priorities.
