I'll get it downloaded then.

Hope you enjoy. I’m absolutely loving it. The mech bits feel amazing. Some of the best rumble utilisation (to mimic their footsteps) I have experienced.

Will I need to play Titanfall 1 first to understand what's going on?

Titanfall 1 didn't have a sine player campaign, so definitely no!

Really? I had no idea. One less game for my backlog i guess :datass:

Yep, it was online multiplayer anyway but everyone asked for a single player campaign so Respawn shrugged their shoulders and said oh go on then and casually dropped the greatest single player campaign of all time in the sequel, the mad lads

On to chapter 5 and Dathomir. Really not enjoying this location as much as the previous ones. It's definitely the most Dark Souls of the planets and the enemies are bit monotonous. Maybe it'll perk up a bit later on (I'd say I'm probably just about to hit the first boss fight).

I really didn’t enjoy that planet at all, just felt boring and crap

Started playing this last night and absolutely loving it. Looks stunning on Series X, just completed the third planet the exploration, movement and puzzles are a joy.

I also enjoy the fact you start straight away as a Jedi rather than having hours of learning it. You do the first opening bit and then bam here's your lightsabre :D

Can see this keeping me occupied until Cyberpunk, not trying to 100% it but just want to enjoy the story/planets as they come.

I don’t think I’d have enjoyed it as much if I’d tried to 100% it. As I said after I’d completed it, if it had a more traditional new game+ I’d have probably opted for that route, as it doesn’t I'll just reload my save if I want to go back and finish it fully. I’ll definitely be loading it up whenever I upgrade to a 4K TV though, it’ll be really something visually considering how good it looks on my current TV.

Just bought this on PS5 before the sale ends. Won't start it until I've finished either Days Gone or Demon's Souls but I'm really looking forward to it. Sounds like it's full of Star Wars feels which is exactly what I want right now.

Well, this game is kicking my ass

I'm playing on Jedi Knight and may have to drop to the easiest setting...

Just mopped up the last chest and secret on Dathomir that happened to be a strawberry floating mile away from the ship. This game needs a fast travel unlock past a certain point to make 100% a bit less of a chore. I'm definitely going for 100% on maps, chests and secrets but I really can't be arsed finding all the scanning points.

Dathomir was definitely a low point in an otherwise great game.

I think what doesn't help is that map is multi-layered and difficult to read on the holomap but has very few interconnected points so certain areas take forever to get to.

I think the worst part of being waaaaay down in the bottom of a level like that, is the parts that force you on a one way route with no way of turning back. A fair few times I'd be going for a collectible and end up on a massive slide or something which would take me off somewhere totally different and it'd be a slog to get back to where I started.

Seriously though, how do I get good?

Is this what combat in souls game is like, as I've never played them before. What do I need to be focusing on? Blocking and parrying?

Or shall I just lower the difficulty to story :shifty:

It's nowhere near as unforgiving as Dark Souls. Basically, pick your fights on the first planet and don't try to tackle anything enormous. Troopers are fairly easy, as is the wildlife if it's smaller than you. I'm not great at games and have managed fairly easily on Jedi Knight with only a couple of boss fights taking 2 or 3 attempts.

I died *repeatedly* to that special Oggudo thing on Bogano after like maybe two hits and then just thought "nah, cba" and rolled it down to story and found I was enjoying the whole thing a lot more. Especially since it's got that exploration-style gameplay you don't want to be progressing to get killed for a stupid reason and sent all the way back to the last checkpoint.

I think the worst thing about the difficulty is you can only restore your health/stims if you rest, and then that respawns all the enemies anyway so you've still got to fight your way through everyone which kinda negates the whole point of resting to restore your health. Disappointed there's no Force Heal ability like Jedi Outcast/The actual films

Also can someone who's finished it answer like yes/no: are there only four planets to actually explore?

I found you just needed to pay attention to who you were fighting.

You can hold block (LB) if needs be, but timing the parry helps as it gives you chance to deal damage back. When they turn red, roll away.

Towards the end of the game I was just force pushing storm troopers of the edges or deflecting blasts back by spamming LB. once you get the party timing it clicks.
