It looks good but there is definitely some jank with the combat. I’m surprised it’s this year.

That was a pretty impressive showing. Looked much better than I thought it would after the tease last month.

It really was! I loved how powerful the Jedi looked and the environments and sound seemed to exude Star Wars atmosphere, too. I'm pleasantly surprised!

Enemies move a bit slowly, blaster bolts are slow as heck, and the lightsaber looks too fuzzy, but that's stuff I assume will be fixed up by launch, even by now.

On the whole, the game looks excellent, and I'm looking forward to it.

Rumor has it that it's occupying Battlefront 3's originally intended release slot, so it might've been brought forward.

It looks pretty decent.

I mean, there's nothing original in there, but it looks fun to play and I've always got faith in Respawn to deliver quality gameplay. It'll be great to see what it's like once they've applied the level of polish I know they will. Right now I'm planning on getting this.

Oh and I love they got wallrunning in there.

MS show has more footage tomorrow then. Looking forward to that.

"At least we have the high ground." I don't think that'll help, scout trooper.

Looking good, though I'm more interested in the story than the gameplay. It was certainly nice to see Saw here.

Looks really promising!

The part where he cut the scout trooper's belly open made me audibly gasp with excitement IRL.

The lightsaber looks wrong though... All one solid colour?
Earlier games (JK outcast) nailed the classic "white core, coloured glow" thing.

Bit underwhelmed by the demo truth be told.

Mechanically it's an all too apparent blend of Titanfall and Uncharted, but it would be foolish to assume there aren't more unique elements - such as whatever the skill points are for. Still intrigued, was just a pretty average presentation is all

Watching this makes me realise how the indie vs AAA variance in the games industy is now almost completely the same as in the movie industry. AAA seems to stick to strict rules and structures, often relying on spectacle and impeccable production values to establish worth, but all the interesting gooseberry fool is happening in the world of indies.

Basically this looked cool, but was absolutely nothing new. It's Uncharted with a lightsabres, Tomb Raider + force powers.

Ho hum.

At least there aren't hundreds of conveniently placed cover barriers. :simper:

Yeah, the gameplay was all pretty safe and nothing really struck me as being innovative, but I'm still looking forward to the story.

It's a single player Star Wars game from EA, somehow I don't think highly innovative is what was needed here

Yeah, but 'interesting' would have been nice.

Looks ok, just a bit flat. Still think Death Stranding will be my main Christmas day game.

Wish my image sig would work

Having watched the gameplay again by itself, I’m actually more impressed with it than I was before. The combat definitely looks like it’s got some depth to it, though enemy AI needs to be improved and I think animations need smoothing out. They’ve nailed the look and feel of it and it looks like it may also be due for a visual upgrade before release rather than the other way around. There’s also enough else going on with the traversal, force powers and environmental interaction that certainly gives the suggestion there will be plenty of variety in what you’re doing. As long as the environments stay fresh then I can see this being a bit of hit.

Very very pleasantly surprised.

To be fair, it does look much better than TFU.

I do think it needs some God of War style takedowns like TFU had though.

So, so underwhelming. Combat looked dull, world looks flat, if anything that killed my hype for this game. In a world now of DMC, Dark Souls, Nioh this paled in comparison. Not giving up on in yet as the exploration sounded interesting but that was an awful reveal.

Watching the combat in that video after playing God of War. Just lol.
