I amazed how much gooseberry fool JJ is getting. The remake/reboot movie NEEDED to be made again after the prequels and he did it well, good even. I'm not even a big Star Wars fan but it captured what Star Wars is.

I agree. I'm not a massive Star Wars fan either so maybe that explains why we liked it.

Ignoring the re-hash criticisms of Ep7, I found it more problematic in terms of world building/setting - not confident he can bring it together to a successful close given how unsatisfying vague/wooly it started.

That and galactic fast travel shrinking the universe scale

(Characters were good though!)

I'm all for JJ. I loved the force awakens, just need to dial back the poetry this time.

Kind of, instead of Ewoks though it will be Gungans to link the three trilogies together.

Nah mayne, this trilogy's cute/funny race are the Porgs.

He's mixing Trek and Wars by taking the cyborg things from Trek?

Everywhere's already crawling with the plushies of them :dread: I still think they look a bit creepy in the actual film

I don't know how much of his story is covered in Rebels, but I could really go for a Captain Rex cartoon, book, or even a stand-alone movie. He's a great character, and it'd be fascinating to see his post-Clone Wars story told.

Edit: Episode VIII rumor/fakery (I hear it may actually be placeholder art?):
