Is there really still confusion why he hasn't killed Anakin/ Vader?

Lex-Man wrote:My issue with the prequel trilogy is that it wipes out the possibility of seeing the Republic trying get back on its feet after RotJ. Maybe seeing something about the rise of the first order would be cool. It could be part of the Mandalorian.

I quite liked Obi Wan. Definitely had its ups and downs though. I find it a bit odd that Obi Wan has wasted two opportunities to kill Vadar now.

I would definitely like to see some more stuff between ROTJ and Force Awakens about the rise of the first order. That would be great. Battles between the new Republic and the first order. Doesn't have to feature any Jedi's or sith characters at all.

However it will always grind on me that we know the outcome of it all with the poor recent trilogy.

Pretty much everything in the visual media set between the OT and Sequels, regarding the conflict between the NR & FO, is probably going to be espionage and Cold War themed, which, I kinda really dig. A proper spy thriller, in the Rogue One vein, would not go amiss.

Politically, the NR suffered the same issues we have today - increasingly insane polarization, factionalization, one side increasingly openly yearning for the Empire while the other side is divided on how to tackle them. Leia bails for a reason - she sees how doomed the enterprise is.

Finally got round to finishing this (took a Stranger Things detour) and I enjoyed it in the main. Also, all of it's faults were wiped away by that Hello there. I don't care what kind of fan that makes me, I just strawberry floating loved it.

Finally got round to watching the finale - 6/10.

The Vader/Kenobi battle was really enjoyable, but everything else was absolute garbage

This whole series was such a waste of time, effort and (most importantly and disappointingly) potential :fp:

Apparently there were plans for an Obi-Wan movie trilogy:

Star Wars always seems to do this. No matter how many films they make, I always end up thinking the bits unseen between them sound really interesting. The rise of the First Order as a Cold War style spy thriller could potentially be so good.

This fan-edit has been getting quite a bit of attention. Quite strange that one of the industry trade sites has reported on this given they usually ignore such stuff. The fact that they have, I think, speaks to just how obvious it is that this show was just begging to have poorly edited action sequences recut and superfluous material excised. Might give it a go.

Got round to starting this, found the first episode a bit mixed.

+ It's great to see Ewan McGregor reprise the role
+ I liked the shots of him just going about Tatooine
+ The opening scene with the younglings was cool (I always find it weird when Jedi are killed by a few clones because I'm too familiar with all-powerful videogame depictions of Jedi)
- The Leia abduction/chase scene was poorly directed, acted and plotted; a real low point
- The inquisitors come across a little overly comic book

Initial impressions are it will be better than Boba Fett but not as good as The Mandalorian, but its early days. I'll have to read through this thread once I'm done!
