The differing reactions in here are hilarious, both sides are so over the top

They telegraphed this so much but I think wasted it as sequel bait rather than at a better time narratively. I still loved seeing Qui-Gon though, and it's set up at the end of episode 3 so no canon issues before someone brings that up

They should all be getting disc releases. It's a real shame that they haven't, at least not yet.

I suppose Disney's thinking must be that disc releases will harm Disney Plus subscription numbers.

I imagine most people will be able to get Disney Plus over the next couple of years, heck for many countries if you really want too there’s ways. Yes there’s till a market for physical media but it’s going down year on year. I disagree it should be a priority to be honest. They are more likely to sell digital downloads stand alone I imagine.

I suppose the question is, would it cost the company more than it's worth to do a physical release, or would such a release make enough money to stand on its own. I think the latter, honestly, but I don't have any data to back up that feeling.

A little "it's like poetry" moment in this episode:

"Then my friend is truly dead" - Obi-Wan Kenobi, OWK
"Then my father is truly dead" - Luke, RotJ

The line from RotJ is reinforced with new meaning, Vader's reaction is now laden with new weight of contemplation and remembrance, as we see the seeds of his redemption so unwittingly planted by Obi-Wan, which Luke would later bring to fruition.

And can we talk about how much of a badass Beru was? When Owen was filled with fear and doubt, she took charge, got out the blasters and said let's strawberry floating go.

Yoda who spent 800 years mastering the Force and honing his skill had to exert significant effort to move objects like raising Luke's X Wing or stopping Dooku from crushing Kenobi and Anakin with that metal girder, yet here Vader and Obi Wan are throwing gooseberry fool around like toys. "Obi Wan used '10,000 Rock Slam'. It's super effective!"

SW has had a power balance/consistency problem for a long time to be fair, this is just the latest example of it.

Yeah, it's like how in 2022 Mo Salah scores goals for fun, but Bobby Charlton hasn't scored one for ages! Charlton has decades more experience, it's ridiculous that Salah is in the Premier League over him.

Jen's right - we need a Yoda miniseries. I suggest a sitcom set on Dagobah telling the story of an aged Yodas retirement. Lets call it "One foot in the Swamp". Someone call Frank Oz.

See, i really liked the rock throwing, added fun to the lightsaber battle.

I did laugh at the shot of ObiWan with his arms out and all the rocks rising up behind him though. Took it a little too far..

I did actually say: "Come at me bro!" When that happened

Good episode though. Enjoyed 80% of the series thoroughly.
Wouldn't mind more tbh.

This idea, that if someone doesn't like something that you do signifies that they have some sort of happiness defecit, is very strange.

Another aspect of the show i enjoyed was Leias journey. At the beginning she couldnt fix her little batteries not included bot. But in the company of Obi-wan, her mitochlorians awakened and imbued her with the electrical engineering genius that Anakin showed in TPM to build C3PO and a pod racer at a similar age. Indeed this was reflected in how she was able to restore power to the besieged compound and also put a hyperdrive into her batteries not included bot to enable Obi-wan to get back to Tattoine in the escape pod. It also explains how she was able to fix the Millenium Falcon in ESB.

I don't care if somebody likes it or not.

But it's bloody strange to dislike something, but watch 6 episodes of it and then spend your time moaning that the lightsaber colours are wrong.

The only problem with the Reva bit is that it felt pointless as we knew Luke, Owen and Beru were in no danger. I know that's the same for the Vader fight, but episode 3 had already proved you can do a great segment whilst the viewer knows the ending. I think it would have been more effective to somehow wrap up Reva's role in the previous episode. But it's a minor gripe.

If they do a season 2, I think it's time to use some of this deep fake tech as best they can, and go for a whole series in flashback to the Clone Wars whilst Obi Wan gets training from Qui Gon in the present. There is a lot of stuff they can mine from the Clone Wars era which won't mess Canon up and it's time we actually saw some of it in live action.

It's why I gave up on the World at War documentary series, I knew that Hitler was safe until 1945. :x
