9 years I think, so it has more than halved the time window previously established. So by the law of exponential growth that makes it officially a billion times less impactful ;)

I can however confirm that 9 years could be construed as 'a long time'.

I don’t know - if the meeting just seen in the last episode of Obi Wan Kenobi is the last one until Star Wars, then I’d say that still stands; Obi Wan just twatted him right up!

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

Have to agree with Jen. It just didn't feel like a good fit with the original trilogy and some of the key aspects of ANH.

I just dont see why they had to do an an Obi-Wan show with Leia and Luke-they could very easily have done something else. It certainly didn't feel like a story that had to be told. I get they like to go in on nostalgia (ghost Liam Neeson was a bit much mind :slol:) because its an easy win but I think id have preferred if they'd just done something completly removed from the movies. Especially with the Inquisitors, lots of other directions they could have taken it.

Probably should have finished the job when he had the chance in retrospect

Oh, yeah. On reflection, I imagine he would possibly regret walking away. Could have saved himself a whole lot of stress. And death.

For context I do actually think this final episode was probably one of the better showings from this series, the opener was great as well. The middle was all a bit too muddled and often lacked purpose - I broadly agree with the suggestion it should have been a movie.

Overall it was great seeing some of these characters again though

Vader has form for leaving people without finishing the job too. Reva last week and Obi this week.

Not exactly very ruthless, Darth.

What a great ending to in my opinion a great series. Loved every second of it and the two cameos we had in this episode were amazing.

Some of the gooseberry fool being chatted in here is amazing.
Amazing. No surprise at Jenuall. Honestly. Great guy but youre a joyless strawberry float.
Point I made about star wars fans. So strawberry floating precious and so often about the wrong things. How you cannot see how it dovetails with the original trilogy is mystifying.
For me. That series was a series of fantastic star wars moments. If you didn't enjoy them. You're not a star wars fan at heart. It's Star wars. Saturday morning fun for kids and adults alike. Never meant to be high art or to be held to the scrutiny it is.
The bits with Christensen and Mcgregor were sensational. Just made of strawberry floating epic win. Rogue one hit those vader badass notes.
This was a strawberry floating symphony.
Thrilling and just iconic scenes.
The bits with mcgregor and young leia and luke - broke my strawberry floating heart and filled me (and the 5 year old me that saw the first one) with the deepest joy.
Christensen earned his forcce ghost with this season. You can' tell how much he loved it. As did Mcgregor. Who was just peerless.

If you didn't enjoy it.

Thst is why you fail. Mmm.

Help me William Munny Wan. Youre our only hope!

Sorry but this is the kind of fan for whom Disney is happy to milk with cameos and “he said the line!” moments.

I say with a heavy heart that I love Star Wars and the original trilogy but it’s being mined to death and it needs a break. Disney needs a new Marvel and Star Wars show every quarter to please shareholders but that’s what leads to less overall inspiration and specialness. This show was fine, but Star Wars as a whole feels so regular and mundane now, and that kills me.

Each to their own. Its exactly what it set out to be and doesn't hide it or excuse it. Its fan service moments are done right. Unlike on so many other occasions to pander to other fans and their demands/ expectations.

Disney didn't pay all that money just to sell new 4k 8k etc versions of the original trilogy.
Its about tailoring your expectations accordingly. You clearly haven't.
If you didn't enjoy it. Thats a shame. Take a break from it.
Genuinely sorry some people haven't enjoyed it. I've loved it.

Mined to death? Need I remind you who merchandised the ever loving crap out of the OT, and only didn't make the Prequels for 10 years because he didn't like the tech (and made a couple other movies I guess)? Come on, it has always, always been a cash cow.

Doesn't mean it's not strawberry floating magic, though.

If you don't like the frequency of releases, I should remind you that it has been three years since the last movie came out, and it'll have been four when Taika's project releases next year (as is currently expected). For a big name brand, that's not a short amount of time.

TV shows being what they are, one season per year is normal, occasional event series' punctuating release schedules with their brief but bright runs is normal, and some shows will run shorter than others; Andor is expected to only have two seasons, for example. Also normal. As are spinoffs that explore different aspects of the universe.

Not being deprived of Star Wars for another decade isn't a bad thing.

Finale thoughts:

The Obi-Vader battle was perfect. Power, skill, emotion, Obi-Wan restored and Vader humbled, iconic visuals and a great conversation in what truly was a lightsaber duel for the ages.

Reva vs the Lars family was a much better fight than I expected. They acquitted themselves well, all things considered. The return of Luke was a heckin great scene, and now, Reva can move on - really hoping for a space pirate adventure. She's still got demons to exorcise, but that's all part of the journey.

Seeing Luke up close with Owen was great, the first and the last time both. Obi-Wan's last talk with them was a good one.

Obi-Wan actually visiting Alderaan was a surprise. That might be the first time we've seen him set foot on the world. What a wonderful last scene with Leia, Bail and Breha that was.

And then, we had Vader on the holocomm with Palpatine, contrasting with Obi-Wan finally getting to see Qui-Gon. Ugh, I teared up. Several times, but mostly there.

If I could change anything about the finale, it would be one thing:

• Have Vader fly his Eta-2 Actis starfighter. He uses it in the books, and I think probably some comics, and it would've been cool to see that dark callback to RotS.

I understand why he didn't bring it out, though - he may have wanted to recover Obi-Wan's body, if he could, for the tomb in the Fortress Inquisitorius. And, the visual of him stepping out of the shuttle is a big callback to the OT. So I'm not mad, or upset.

Never have I felt more love for this franchise. The show was wonderful, and the last episode, just a great big strawberry floating hug for the soul.

Loved the last episode and the show in general was pretty solid. Had a few nit-picks, but that's about it.
McGregor and Christensen were phenomenal and I loved how they managed to wind it all around existing continuity without really contradicting anything.

Main complaint with this episode was just how poor the picture quality was in the dark scenes. Horrible grain, loads of crushed blacks and compression artifacts. Really took me out of those scenes, which is a shame. Didn't seem to be there on the space scenes though, which looked lovely and crisp.

Yet another reason to be disappointed that Disney have seemingly no intention of ever releasing these shows on disc.

Releasing the shows on disc should be a priority, given the numbers of people who don't or can't get Disney Plus - and all the collectors out there who would spend big bucks on limited editions and whatnot. They should all be getting disc releases. It's a real shame that they haven't, at least not yet.

I suppose Disney's thinking must be that disc releases will harm Disney Plus subscription numbers.

Well I loved the last episode. The only criticisms I have is Reva surviving and then going to attempt to murder Luke, & Luke not remembering anything of it years later but I guess he hit his head.

I don’t understand criticism about the lines in ANH ‘presence’ or ‘last time you were the master’

In fact if anything a decade is a bloody long time to most people, and that battle just proves Obi Wan was the master for so long.

I mean of course he’s gonna age a lot in 10 years  but you have to let some stuff slide and remember ANH came out in 1977, and it’s 2022.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we got another Kenobi series but I think he’s done. But it does leave it open I suppose.

Throughly enjoyed seeing Darth Vader as a total
bad ass and Kenobi the same. Great episode

I imagine most people will be able to get Disney Plus over the next couple of years, heck for many countries if you really want too there’s ways. Yes there’s till a market for physical media but it’s going down year on year. I disagree it should be a priority to be honest. They are more likely to sell digital downloads stand alone I imagine.
