It was gooseberry fool, if Luke had met Obi Wan, then how come he didn't say "oh yeah, Ben, we met that time when you said "hi there" to me".

And Leia in A New Hope didn't immediately say "strawberry floating hell, how ya doing Ben, help me out would you, just like you did 10 years ago when Vader's inquisitor was after me....gooseberry fool, did I say too much?"

All canon destroyed

You could clearly see that Kenobi's lightsaber was a slightly different shade of blue to the one in Clone Wars Season 4, Episode 15.

Childhood ruined.

Spoilers ahead if you are picky but I'm not going to spoiler box them as really you should be watching it, and if you are here then it's been spoiled over on all social media already!

Thought that was easily the best episode of the series, it almost made the previous episodes look worse in retrospect. It was slightly lacking musically for the final showdown, and the Reva/Luke bit felt like a weird distraction from what we wanted to see. Still, Reva was a good character and it will be interesting to see where they go with her. Maybe Ahsoka? I know they've flicked between fights before, especially episode 3, but I didn't feel that worked this time.

The rest was absolutely excellent though. Presumably we are going to get a season 2, probably minus Luke/Leia and possibly Vader. I can't see the need for them to meet again. Very impressive how they retconned the "Darth" bit, and also there were some great call backs to the films.

Great to have Hayden back. I guess he will be moving to the Ahsoka series, and hopefully, hopefully a Vader series.

That was so sick. Small detail but I like that the huge scars on Vader's head and cheek in RotJ were caused by this fight.

That Reva bit could have lifted straight out and the whole thing would have been no worse off - should have let her die at Darths hand - it did just seem like a vehicle to set her up for something else. The timeline could fit for a part in Andor, perhaps with Ahsoka, also in parallel with Rebels?

I felt a bit emosh when Darth's face was exposed and his voice sounded almost human again.

Just finished watching the last episode and I thought it was great stuff! Loads of fun, in the end, and left me wanting more. Very enjoyable, brought a smile to my face and ties in well enough with the old films. And Ewan McGregor was terrific.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

McGregor is superb, Christensen does a wonderful job of repairing his reputation, some of the "new" characters like the grand inquisitor and 3rd sister are actually really quite good... but it's all in service of grade A nonsense from a plot perspective and blows so many holes in existing continuity that I really don't think any of this was worth it.

What's with the star destroyer only being able to track one ship (which was full of very calm people by the way)? Aren't they usually packed with tie fighters and tractor beams?

Emperor budget cuts?

Like what?

Like everything!

I get that everyone has varying degrees of tolerance for these things but the fact that Leia and Luke have now had full on interactions with Ben before ANH just seems ridiculous when you consider how the backstory implied by that movie established things.

"Wah Tatooine is so boring! I want to leave! Nothing exciting ever happens..." Apart from these apparent regular Tuskan raids we have to endure and that time you were nearly kidnapped by a strawberry floating rogue Jedi, yeah Luke!

Also Vader's "I sense a presence..." line is a lot less impactful now we know he'd seen Obi Wan more recently than previously thought. The whole "you were the master and I was the apprentice" business similarly feels broken now as well.

And oh god what is it with Star Wars and giving people one bloody outfit for their whole lives!? Luke standing there at 10 in identikit clothes to what he is still wearing come ANH is almost worse than Han being forced to wear the same strawberry floating shirt and trousers for 30 years!

Is that it? None of that breaks any existing canon.

If you can accept the breaking of canon in ESB, when Vader is revealed as Luke 's father, then moaning about Luke suffering Tuskan raids is rather weird.

Ok, like I say - each to their own with tolerance on this stuff. For some none of it matters, for others it makes it very hard to suspend disbelief. If people get a kick out of it and can overlook stuff then great!

EDIT: Fwiw, that's not "it", I just don't fancy spending all night typing out a list of grievances about the latest edition of space wizards on my phone ;)
