PSVR would suggest 60fps for the PS4 version, wouldn't it?

I'd love to play this in VR, but even a gentle plane flight in Ultrawings made me feel a bit iffy. I was fine until I tried looking out the side of the plane. Even without VR, a modern X-Wing game is still something to be excited about.

Just watched the trailer: the visuals on this look fantastic, the co-op vs AI support is great, I'm a little worried I'd be missing out without VR, and I'm still worried about all the loadout customisation in multiplayer being locked behind playtime.

Is the gameplay going to be different to like the controls in Battlefront? I found myself utterly hating the flight system in that was impossible to navigate correctly and follow to attack. Well for me anyway ha

Watching the gameplay trailer, you can see the pilot(s) pulling maneuvers you just can't do in Battlefront, 2015 or 17. Real movie type stuff - flipping the fighter around mid-flight in a way that isn't just "hit the Square button to pull a 180" or "slow the strawberry float down and pull a tight turn." Now, that could just be engineered for the trailer, but it does imply an evolution of the control scheme.

Nothing to do with the game but this seems like a great place to repost this.

I'd love to see a Star Wars anime in that style.

VR is going to be a hell of a lot better when playing as the New Republic.
TIES have no view except ‘straight-ahead’.

TIEs also lack shields. Good luck, expendable ones!

Seriously though, TIEs should get a better radar or something to compensate.

First Order TIEs have shields. You wouldn't know because they go boom in the new films just as easily as they do in the OT, but they do!

I've been clamouring for a new Star Wars flight sim for YEARS so I'm really excited by this! I'm glad this is going to be less like Battlefront. I played my first starfighter assault mode the other day and was awful, and on the ground maps it's like I got pilot training from Al Qaeda.

This is EA so I would expect that the only way to get layers/shapes beyond some basic stuff is through lootboxes, microtransactions battlepasses, "suprise mechanics" or whatever chicanerous terminology they throw in. I know they have said there won't be any in, but, again this is EA.

I'm all for being cynical when it comes to what EA likely want to do, but after everything that's happened since Battlefront II, I think it's actually really naive to think they'd be that strawberry floating dense.

EA are inherently greedy, yes. But seeing people disregard even the creative director's words that 'the game isn't built around a live-service strategy' still irks me - I don't want to be so jaded that the people behind this game feel like they have to literally scream in my ear to convince me they're not going to make the same mistake.

Gotta give a relatable name of a non-Force-user who pilots starfighters, right? Not like saying ace pilot has the same effect?

I really hope the 3 energy management juggling is simple to do on a hotas, because in VR text and small details like that are not a strong point. I'll need to be confident I'm adjusting the right things without staring right at them.

Poe is a dickhead in 2 of the films, is what I was alluding to.
