The PC part isn't being added until December but it isn't clear how VR will work. Another issue is that EA Play has two tiers, basic and pro. It looks like Squadrons is only on the pro tier for now so it may not be rolled into Game Pass as the pro tier is £15/month. Of course, if the pro tier is added to Game Pass that would be fantastic value.

VR mode is just a Toggle in the options. So you open the game, choose the option and it ties into your PC headset. The Xbox app shouldn't make any difference.

Cool. Just wary because the only way I've successfully launched PC VR games is through Steam VR via virtual desktop to my Quest. Using the actual Oculus software has been really unreliable, so I guess I'm worried about how will other platforms will let me play VR. Might just stump up the extra few quid for the Steam version, so I can launch natively there.
I assume if this links with an EA account, then I'll also end up with it linked up my Origin account anyway, so I can use that to see how it launches from elsewhere.

Ta. Thought it launching straight onto game pass would have been a bit optimistic.

Be honest, who starts this game up by saying 'Red five standing by'? I pretty much do it every time on the Battlefield VR mission and it's sad as strawberry float but I love it.

I'm not an x-wing nerd so I'd be starting it by saying gold something given Y-Wings are the best star wars ship.

I mean this without a doubt the best imperial ship.

I don't think you can fly it in this though :(

Everyone knows the best imperial ship is the TIE Interceptor.

Sister allowed me to jump on this with VR, and I love the feeling of being within the cockpit of the ships, but the controls the just screwing me over, so while I was trying to love flying around, I was more trying to fight my muscle memory of Battlefront. It certainly felt great, though, and I'm certain I'll be enjoying it later on when I jump to my Xbox.

Yeah this is more in line with the original flight combat sims than it is with anything that's come since, which have all been far more arcadey in their controls. Stick with them and you'll get the hang of them.

Bought this. :fp:

Obviously I'm going with the Empire first.

With any game I'll swap them to Battlefront standard if I can. I'm just too used to the stick controls that anything else I'll keep messing up with it. Maybe without a VR headset on I might manage better, we'll see.

Got through the prologue. Had a few issues with the control setup, ran out of buttons on my HOTAS so I'm using a combo of that and KB&M but gooseberry fool, but this really is a TIE Fighter sequel. The first mission has you scanning cargo (the same cargo ships as the 1993 game no less) then strawberry floating about with power balances.

Couldn't be happier.

Prologue done.

Oh my god this is the Star Wars TIE fighter game I’ve always wanted since the PC version.

Even feel so closed in the TIE Fighter, in VR. I think I must have flying most of the time upside down as my neck was straining all the way through and got dizzy by spinning too much past a rebel cargo ship.

So far I’m impressed.

Caved and bought this through the Epic store with a £10 voucher making it £25.
It immediately launches Origin just to install the thing.

Got it installing, and my VR headset charging downstairs, looking forward to trying it out later.
