Might invest in a HOTAS joystick for this. Just have to wait and see if it will work on the PS5 first.

Getting a few bugs on my end. After achieving certain goals the game will just freeze. It'll let me access all the menus, even change things like shield balance, but everything just hangs there.

Just a reminder before anyone gets too excited that VR is just a gimmick like 3dtv (remember that? EXACTLY.) that nobody is going to buy.

Had a few issues with the control setup, ran out of buttons on my HOTAS so I'm using a combo of that and KB&M but gooseberry fool, but this really is a TIE Fighter sequel. The first mission has you scanning cargo (the same cargo ships as the 1993 game no less) then strawberry floating about with power balances.

Couldn't be happier.

When I saw the cargo ships I couldn't help but smile. :D

Are you playing in VR?

Indeed. It's glorious. :D

Just done the prologue and I'm already kinda wishing I'd gone the full hog with the PC upgrade and VR :slol:

Do you only get the "glory" in the multiplayer modes? Had a quick flick through the customisation options once I'd got to the menu but I can't be nein nunb until I have 3,200 glory!

You get glory even while facing the AI in Fleet Battles mode as, unlike in Battlefront, doing so counts toward levelling progress. Glory is spent upon purchase, so if you want Nein, you'll need to be saving up.

Yay you can earn it in AI battles, but nay that it gets used up when you unlock things  Will have a go with it later and see how well I do. Reckon I'll be awful in the PvP multiplayer

Think you should go full screen over quarter screen

It's like it's trying to play in 8K or something!

Trying to set up the VR for this - But I'm stuck in Windows Mixed Reality. Can hear the sound from Star Wars but no visual. Any idea?

Oh, I am loving this. Dogfights are a lot of fun, as are Fleet Battles. Fast and intense battles within the world of Star Wars where the tide of the battle is always turning. Still yet to jump into ranked Fleet Battles even though I've now got it unlocked, but I think I've save that for my stream tomorrow. And speaking of streams, there's a lot of people doing so at present. While that's not the only qualifier for success, I'd say the game has proven to be one.

Focusing on campaign first

Anyone got any control tips? I’ve switch shield priority to button press rather than selector

Got it working, and in VR, and oh boy, this is the gooseberry fool. Took a while to get used to the flight controls, had to switch the non default control screens, and invert, but once there, it feels real natural. But its even better with a dedicated flight stick. The inside of the X Wing feels awesome, especially as you can look around and see your wings in that, rather than the forwards only windows on the Tie fighter.

Menus look wrong in VR though, like there's a horrid red filter over either the 2D or 3D elements, but not both, and not sure what determines which element looks wrong. Also, the cut scenes not working in VR is a pain. I just get half the screen in each eye, so I have to lift the headset a bit and watch on the TV screen, or switch Virtual Desktop to desktop mode instead of Steam VR. I also broke the first level, apparently flying straight into the hole in the wall the X Wings come out of broke their scripting, so they all just sat there stationary while I shot at them.

Overall though, this is the VR star wars game everyone would want, it feels like. While Vader Immortal was cool, and gave you a lightsabre, it never came close to this.

Genuinely felt a bit dizzy after taking the headset off.
