The Empire Strikes Back also had this problem. Luke's entire training by Yoda on Dagobah seems to only take the same amount of time as the Falcon chase. Don't know if relativity is a thing in the Star Wars universe.
I thought the TLJ was OK. Better, certainly, than the TFA but still with similar problems to that film. Thoughts:
-Some of the humour was a little too much/too gooseberry fool. Particularly the Poe/Hux encounter at the start.
-Still too much reliance on imagery/scenes from the OT e.g. A three person throne room sequence with loyalties being tested. A white planet with walkers attacking a rebel base. A hermited Jedi on a planet, which has a 'dark place' where an apprentice goes to learn something about themselves. And so on.
-Maybe the Resistance should be using missiles with FTL drives.
-Not enough Chewie.
-What was the whole deal with Justin Theroux's codebreaker? The whole thing felt totally pointless.
-Thought Benecio Del Toro was really good. Would actually like to see more of him in the future.
-Made some bolder story choices than I had anticipated. The killing of Snoke being the most obvious one.
-How does Kylo know about Rey's parentage? (if in fact he does)
-Wasn't it awfully convenient that a planet (with an old rebel base, no less) appeared, just when the remainder of Resistance had to abandon ship? I mean, maybe I missed it; was that their original destination? Actually, that was probably the thing that just didn't sit right with me at all. Took me right out the film. Felt similarly at the bit in TFA where, from Maz's planet, the Starkiller base can be seen destroying all the Resistance occupied planets across the galaxy, simultaneously. In broad daylight. Sheesh.
-Where was Finchy from The Office? Totally missed him.
