Today, Undead Labs revealed that character customization was coming to State of Decay 2. You can take a look at the in-depth features in the livestream. This has been a long-requested feature that's finally making its way to the game in October. Hopefully, it'll live up to expectations.

Early October. Some outfits unlocked from the start then you can find some more around the world or through missions. More to come in the future with at least 4 more months of content of outfits/weapons to drop.

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition

Today, we are thrilled to announce State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, an expanded and improved version that takes everything you love about State of Decay 2 and adds tons of new content and improvements for veteran and new players alike. Best of all, this is a free, automatic upgrade for all existing owners of State of Decay 2, including all Xbox Game Pass members.

Launching with Xbox Game Pass as well as Steam on March 13 (Friday the 13th!), here are some highlights of the many visual and gameplay improvements included in Juggernaut Edition.

We created a brand-new open world map for players to explore in a rugged logging town named Providence Ridge, and we completely rebuilt the post-tutorial experience to better teach players the key facets of playing State of Decay 2.There’s also a new category of heavy melee weapons that reward player skill and timing, a wide range of graphical improvements (including better lighting and foliage optimization for better performance), and dodge and stealth are now split into separate commands as part of an improved control scheme.

We also fixed dozens of mission and gameplay bugs to ensure a better experience for all players, improved the audio experience, including additional music that doubles the total amount in the game, and more.

Juggernaut Edition also includes all three add-on packs released to date: Independence Pack, Daybreak Pack, and State of Decay 2: Heartland.

And, if you already own Daybreak, Heartland, or purchased the Ultimate Edition of State of Decay 2, we’re sending you some exclusive in-game gifts that won’t be available anywhere else. Simply log in on launch day to collect them! More on that coming later today.

Juggernaut Edition is also available for all Xbox Game Pass members, and launching for the first time on Steam with cross-network play across all platforms. Join Xbox Game Pass, or pre-order now and be ready to join a thriving community of six million survivors!

State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is the biggest and best State of Decay 2 experience. We can’t wait to share it with you on Friday, March 13.

I don't know if I'm in the minority here but I have no problem with Xbox games being ported to Switch.
Microsoft clearly has no intention to make a handheld device and some of the games they make could make perfect on the go games and more people playing them is always good.
I can't see any downside.

I've watched Pedz, Matt (TWA) and Grum stream multiplayer State of Decay 2 and it looked to be great fun. I'd be interested in a Switch version, Peter!

...although isn't X-cloud targeting gaming on multiple devices? MS are seeking to enable gaming across all sizes of screen; I'd imagine that a tablet+controller option would be available.

No problem either with switch ports, maybe The Outer Worlds 2 will find its way into switch.

Looking forward to this update though.

So the remastered graphics is basically a reshade :slol:

Just fix the strawberry floating gooseberry fool performance, seriously. As much as I loved the game it ran like a dog due to poor optimisation :dread:

Can't tell what it's like on PC obviously but it's a pretty consistent 30fps on X, increase camera speed also, it really helps, the default setting is painfully slow. Its still 'hitches' when driving tho which is really off putting.

I appreciate all the work they've done in patching but...like...it 'feels and looks' like it should be running at 60fps on X...a 60fps dynamic res patch would be great.

Wasn’t sure what time it would update, noticed an update last night so uninstalled and downloaded again but seems it’s still not the Juggernaut Edition (normal menu screen and only had 1 DLC pack) so uninstalled till I get home from work later.

Really they can go strawberry float themselves with that stupid way of updating a strawberry floating game. Updated, uninstalled, downloaded the Juggernaut Edition from Windows Store only for it to be the regular strawberry floating version.

Trying again now. strawberry floating ridiculous.

I played it on the X and damn the game was janky, ran bad and some of the visual glitches were crazy. First time I played it a load of mountains were rainbow coloured  was odd to say the least. I don't know if streaming would have effected it though, I assume it might.

Still had great fun with it though.

Juggernaut edition on X1X at least is excellent, looks gorgeous and frame rate seems better but it could be added animations coupled with the thousand other things.

The one negative is that this is what the game should have been at launch but right now, for a Zombie survival game, it’s pretty awesome.

Juggernaut Edition installed finally, only tested the menu to make sure it wasn't the OG version again so happy days. Will test if its better performance-wise later.

*Edit/Update*

So had a good 2 hours on it this morning, performance is still gooseberry fool with major drops into the 30's (Highs of 120+) graphically its definitely no better at all (Playing on Ultra settings and installed on my SSD) and there seems to be weird strawberry float ups with silly things like my damn Impalers headlights now shining up in the air rather than the strawberry floating road so you can't see gooseberry fool at night :dread:

And the flashlight (L3/stick) seems to be linked now with crouch? I can't turn it on or off without crouching or standing up :fp: :fp:
