Need to move things away from jacket potatoes.

The greatest steak, and probably meal, I ever had in my life, courtesy of Charlie's Steakhouse in Florida:

Porterhouse steak, blue cheese crumbled on top. Side of giant triple fried chips with black pepper, oil and cheese. Absolutely unreal stuff

A steak I had at a place near here that does unbelievable steaks. This one was about a quarter of the size of the table, something daft like 50oz, and I not only ate that but finished off my wife's filet steak too

This, although if not on the menu then chunky chips will suffice.

Has anyone mentioned Pomme boulangère yet?

Honestly a great potato side dish without the richness you get with Dauphinoise or Mash.

Oooh or Hasselback potatoes!
Much more impressive than both chips and jacket potatoes

Ooh or what about Marquis potatoes?!
This poll is lacking!

The fact I can no longer eat steak (and most other meats) has been one of the worst things about my disability in the past few years.

Used to love a nice medium rare ribeye.

New potatoes boiled with butter and chives are my ideal, but steak cut chips are the hungry me choice.

A difficult choice between chips (chunky of course) and dauphinoise, but I went for dauphinoise.
