Did you not go to university? I'm not even trying to be funny or clever here; the cost factor makes up for literally 90% of what I'm going to choose to drink.

Surely cost and strength are considered?

I'll go for the cheapest which also has a decent strength. That way I need less.

Hmm, good point. I always just go for the Frenchies as they're 5% strength and always cheaper than everything else. Saying that, in the pub I always go to I always spend an extra 25p to get Grolsch instead of Carling, due to the higher strength.

I stand corrected. And now I'm in the mood to get pissed 8-).

Same here, but all my mates are at Leeds Festival.

I did sixty hour weeks throughout my three years training to be a nurse. So i could afford life's little luxuries. you are right though. Budget constraints are a factor. At the start of the month ill go out and have loads of expensive drinks in town (Manchester). week before payday its a couple of pints of lager in my local.

I just dont like carling or fosters.

I'd go out, but like Phatman, most of my mates are at Leeds Festival, and the ones left are the :fp: types.

My dad is always making his own beers and wines.

The ales turn out great, he makes about 40L's a time too. So it lasts a wee while.
Strong as strawberry float too.

The wine is alright too, tastes like your typical cheap table wine.
He said he's going to make Whisky for Christmas.

Get a job you bum!

I worked two jobs totalling over 40 hours a week throughout uni, just so I could afford nice things, I also paid my own tuition fees because my parents earn loads so I didn't qualify for a big loan, but they chose not to share their massive wealth me. The strawberry floaters.

In fact, I think it was my parents earning a lot and me having a pampered upbringing that spurred me on to work for enough money to maintain that lifestyle when I was fending for myself.

I do have a job! I'll have two when this year starts up. I swear I don't really spend money on anything else (except a bit of gambling) and I seem to end up with nothing. I do tend to go out every night which always adds up; buying the cheapest beer I can find is just common sense! It's not like I want to savour the taste, I want it to go down as quickly as possible so that I can get onto the next one ;).

It's just baffling, like why people drink Lambrini. Good in a night club though, to easily weed the gooseberry fool from the possibly interesting.
