Hi guys.
I just thought I'd do my bit for charity. And do a push for this based on my own experience.
https://www.anthonynolan.org/help-save- ... /thank-youI have so many times in the past seen Anthony Nolan pushing for stem cell donars (spelling sorry, I can't figure it out) . And never done anything about it even though I'd be perfectly happy to, and even though I'm perfectly healthy.
Recently my mum was diagnosed with Lymphoma and is now in desperate need of stem cells to save her life. Fortunately my auntie is a perfect match and they're currently going through all the procedures.
If my auntie hadn't been a match, we'd have had to go to the 'register' to search for a donar.
It's shameful it's taken something like this for me to sign up for the register. But it's straight forward enough and you could save someones life in the future if you're ever a match.
When signing up I found out that 31 is the cut-off age. As we're all a bunch of 90's and 00's gaming kids, most of us are already past or fast nearing that age. I turn 30 in August, and had it not been for this kick up the bum I would have likely missed the cut off with life getting in the way, even though I had always intended to join the register.
If anyone else had felt the same. I thought I'd just make this post as a gentle reminder. Even if it gets one person to join, it will have been worth it.
Cheers my dears.
