Used to play it a hell of a lot although I only play it for a few hours a week. It's really enjoyable if you play with people you know or find a decent guild to join.

Oh and theres a big thread for it here if you want to know more viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53

It's more addictive than crack cocaine.

This.

I'm afraid of getting addicted to it! :(

I used to have an addiction to Phantasy Star Online for the DC.

Seriously.

Its not even a very good game. Picture doing fetch and carry quests over and over and grinding for XP, and thats wow.

While the parts you listed can be tedious, that isn't WoW at all.

People who play it and keep on playing it are raiding end game content with their Guilds, that's where the majority of the fun comes from.

Photek there's a WoW thread in the C&og folder. Go check that out if you're genuinely interested. And yes, I was hooked on PSO on the DC and Xbox and I now play WoW. :fp:

i was into WoW for a while but the monthly subscription was to much as i hardly had enough time to play it so i didnt think i was getting my moneys worth. I enjoyed it a lot especially when i was in a guild. That seems the best way to play it and joining up with fellow guildies and completing quests with them but as i said i didnt have enough time to fully enjoy it.

PSO was amazing that was even more addicting than wow. Also it played amazingly well through a 56k modem , i have no idea how they managed do that.

WoW's amazing. People who say it's just grinding or whatever clearly haven't played it properly. The beginning of a character can be a bit boring (though I didn't think so when I first got the game), it just keeps getting better after that.

Thats why I've never touched it. It was bad enough being addicted to Football Manager :(

Does anyone have that comparison pic which showed WOW players before and after, listing their weight? No idea how genuine it was, but it was hilarious.

Been there, done it.

If you're going to play an MMO, it may as well be the best one.

I seriously never found it addictive, maybe because I just spent a lot of time with it running in the background, so I would be doing other things at the same time.

Oh and it's a shite game by itself, it's the community, guilds and whatnot that make it. You get used to fetch quests which aren't so bad when you're getting rewarded and you have people to talk to all the time.

I quit at about Lvl 36, bad timing of my sub running out and Summer starting, never had time to play so never renewed it.

Everyone who I know who play it say they hate it. And yet they keep playing.
