That's a lot that's happened! I'm going to guess that Dan has left us enough clues to figure out which is the correct option, so if we can work that out we can choose who is getting killed and who is getting immunity for tomorrow.

The theme seems to be past mafia games, and specifically (I think) those run by Karl, hence him appearing all evil and with multiple personas (the different mafia antagonists?). Zweiselberg is the location of When the Larvae Moult, the Foundry is the location of Howling at the Moon, and I'm guessing there are other locations from games I haven't played.

How that helps us pick between a mallet and an hourglass, I don't know!

Another great chapter in our story, good work Dan! :D

Although I strongly object to the suggestion that I would ever make a noise that could be described as a "screech"!

I agree with OR, I think we have been given enough clues to work out what the "right" answer is here...

Great set up, dude.

My theory would be the mallet represents the Ban Hammer, and the Hourglass is a temporary ban?

I was also thinking the mallet could be a ban hammer.

The hourglass could be a loading/busy mouse pointer? Temporary ban works too.

"Karl" stresses spotting the link. My current best theory is that the "link" is Karl, as the host of the various mafia games, and that the mallet is the correct choice as Karl is a mod who wields the banhammer.

I'm probably way off

I mean there are various "links" to previous forum games so it could be referring to that in some way?

I'm wondering if we are supposed to be able to see something from the sequence of events described as well:

You've come all this way yet not realised what it is you've done? You've walked the path, crossed the lake and followed the tracks, and yet the connection evades you.

Is there some significance to what has been described so far?

I did wonder if Dan was being very literal and there was an actual HTML link hidden in the update somewhere but I don't think that is the case.

The Zelda DS games are Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass. Another literal Link... perhaps too good to be a coincidence?

I wondered about a Zelda connection as well but yeah it might be a bit of a reach?

There does seem to be a Hammer item in the Phantom Hourglass, used to defeat Eox, the ancient stone soldier boss.

"Phantom Hourglass" seems far too accurate to what is happening... but I think it might just be a massive coincidence.

I'm going to vote for Drumstick to go for the hourglass, as he is inactive.

I too vote Drumstick to go for the hourglass.

Beautiful chapter, the standards are so high.

I'll back Drumstick as well then, I think that leaves us here:

Hourglass
mic (1 - mic)
Drumstick (3 - OrangeRKN, Hulohot, Jenuall)

Mallet
no votes yet[/quote]

Any volunteers for the mallet job? If not is there anyone else inactive that we can chuck under the bus call upon in our time of need?

I'll back myself for the hourglass.

I'll grab the mallet if no-one else wants to, I don't mind getting killed as there's no way I'll be able to write anything as good as we've seen so far.

Clarkman and Dan have set far too high a standard :x

+1 Ironhide for the mallet. I hope my super shaky logic on it being the correct choice comes through for you

Oh yeah, these two chapters have been excellent in quality. While I don't doubt my ability to match them, I do doubt that I'd be able to follow-on from what has already come, owing to it's basis in GRcade history.

As for the votes, I'll go along with Drumstick for the hourglass and Ironhide for the mallet.
