Stranger Things - 80s Mystery Drama, Netflix. Animated series announced.

Looks like they're revisiting the terrible Lost Boys But Ironic idea from the end of Season 2 (which I still maintain was a litmus test for a spin-off).

Season 3 was a return to form but the novelty is very much wearing thin. This teaser just made me worried rather than excited.

My thoughts pretty much echo Taf's. I'm definitely going to watch it on release but I'm not as excited as I feel I'm supposed to be.

I think the idea of rewatching the first season is actually more exciting.

I thought S3 was fantastic so I'm excited. :toot:

Series 3 is very comfortably in my top 10, probably 5, of Best Series of TV Ever Made, so I will have full confidence in their ability to produce more excellence. :toot:

God I hope they end it on a high with this season and don't drag it out even longer.

It's hard to imagine they will be able to match the quality of series 3, but I will definitely be looking forward to it.

Season 1 was great, season 2 was meh but season 3 was brilliant so there’s no way I won’t watch this. It’s never been bad, but the nostalgic charm is wearing thin and given Netflix’s habit of cancelling shows as soon as they’re not bringing in new subscribers they should do the sensible thing and end it with a bang.

Yeah. Four and *maybe* five if they can keep them looking high school age, but after that finish it up. Looking forward to this!

I think they should finish at 4. The kids are getting too old and bar a few missteps in season 2 it's been so good. Go out on a high.

I think the Duffer brothers have said season 4 will not be the last but they do have an ending planned.

Why does it matter if they're young adults and not kids? I'd love to see what happens to the characters once they're grown up.

Because it wouldn't be the same type of show at all. I'd much rather they conclude the story without dragging it out and out.

As long as it doesn't feel like doing it for the sake of it in happy for them to keep going.

As StayDead said it would be good to see how they and everyone grows up and what could happen later in life for them.

They key is them being careful not to just churn out gooseberry fool because they can, so hopefully they end it when the new stuff isn't up to standard, but I'm happy to have them keep coming.
