Really enjoyed this, although as with a lot of semi horror things, any fear you had evaporates once you properly see the monster.

Winnona was trying far too hard too

Hopefully they'll leave this alone now as I can see the writers disappearing up their own upside downs and the second series being self indulgent shite.

Edit: spoilered for those still watching

Only saw the first two episodes last night, it's great! I like it! It's like Species, Stand By Me and a host of 80's horror movies rolled into one. The opening sound track is mint as well! Roll on this evening.

Definitely, thought she was great in the first couple of episodes but she ended up maintaining the same performance until the penultimate episode. When she starts being motherly towards Eleven she starts to mix up the performance a bit

I like Chris Stuckmann's reviews. He just about summed up my thoughts on the show, and he does also nod to what Johnny Jalfrezi is trying to say.

I finished watching this recently and have to say I strawberry floating loved it. Perfect setting, decent kid actor performances and a decent mystery/horror.

Netflix really are winning at TV at the moment.

Finished it the other day, me and the missus loved it though I agree with the CG monster being a bit gooseberry fool :slol:

As for my thoughts on Season 2..

I think they'll have the same characters. Will spewing out a slug due to the effects of the upside-down atmo, Hopper leaving snacks and waffles for El in the forest and that hatched egg in the upside-down.

Agreed, plus what deal did Hopper make with the DoE? And what happened when they picked him up in the car?

Broke my strawberry floating wrist on Wednesday night playing football :fp: so watched 5 episodes of this in a row today while I was off work. It's DAMN good. Can't wait to finish it off tomorrow. Agree about Winona Ryder trying just a little too hard. She reminds me of Claire Danes in Homeland when she's off her meds and in full crazy mode except Ryder is like that all the time.

Speaking of the soundtrack, both volumes are out now on iTunes. I'd say this is my favourite track.

Siring two children and working my way up the greasy pole of both the education system and the Labour machine.

I only came here cos I had twenty minutes spare when in the bath.

Also, just watched Ep4 "The Body". Gripping!

Gunna catch the last episode tomorrow after work. It's a wonderful blend of Matilda, X-Files and Stand by me, with a belter soundtrack. Regret not being able to watch it sooner.

It beats GoT in my opinion.

It's not quite True Detective S1. It's not Band of Brothers, nor The Bridge.

It's up there with those as my favourites though.
