I liked the 'bad' episode as well.

Is the Bad episode the one where Michael Jackson rapes them all?

Blame the parents :x

I think you’ll find they were thrilled to be there.

Been poorly for a few days so finally made time to watch this.

Up to s2e4...and it's pretty good. But can't help feel that it's overhyped.

Plus I hate all 4 of the kids. (Dustin recently especially). Basically if 11's not on screen everyone should be asking where she is. She's the best.

This still needs a disc release (for season 1 at least), and i'll keep moaning about the lack of one until they pull their finger out and get on with it.

I just finished season 2 last night, found both seasons very good overall, looking forward to season 3.

A season 1 version of this not available in the UK? -

Reviews are in, 71%, 9 positive & 1 mixed so far - https://www.metacritic.com/tv/stranger-things/season-3

Eventually, all of these threads come together – and in an wholly satisfying way. Nothing here seems crammed together, or extraneous. Instead, Stranger Things 3 carefully builds its way towards big Spielbergian moments loaded with pulse-pounding action beats against memorable set pieces. And everyone is bringing their A-game.

Thankfully, as in seasons past, the Duffer Brothers once again found a way to bring all these themes beautifully together in Stranger Things 3. That's what has made the show such a success for Netflix, after all -- the fact it can be funny, dramatic, dark, gory and nerdy all at the same time.

Still, the “Stranger” writers have figured out how to keep the characters and monsters of their world growing and changing without betraying the core of the series. Eventually, repeated infiltrations of the Upside Down into Hawkins may start to get old, but Season 3 proves monsters and telekinesis aren’t the only reason “Stranger” is worth watching.

Overall, Stranger Things 3 has a lot to offer and it delivers in nearly everything it has promised us over the past year-and-a-half.

It’s a fun ride that will keep you going through to the end credits and beyond (seriously…don’t switch off at the end credits of the final episode.)

https://metro.co.uk/2019/06/30/stranger ... 92890/amp/

Beyond that, there’s not much more I can say without incurring the wrath of Netflix’s Spoiler Upside Down. But rest assured: if I went into season 3 wondering how long “Stranger Things” can possibly keep this up, I left it assured that as long as the series keeps pushing beyond what initially made it work, it will have more story left in the tank yet.

As a Stranger Things skeptic, season 3 brought me the most pleasure in its many scenes set amid the harshly lit mall corridors, sticky multiplexes, public pools and country fairs where I was among the last micro-generation of tweens to run wild in the mid-’90s.

It's getting good reviews it seems, the consensus running somewhere close to "much better than the second series" which is all I want really.

Also, any excuse to post this again:

Watched all but the last episode, which I'll save for tomorrow. After a really slow start this has built to be a superior season than the second even if it's feels like it still does little but tread familiar ground with a few new 80s tropes thrown in. Last few episodes have especially been really enjoyable.

Spoilered thoughts:
- Max is the greatest character early on with her and El being besties, and allowing El to enjoy being a child, is genuinely really nice
- I thought El was meant to be Jane now?
- For your consideration, Maya Hawke is now the next big Young Adult Film Adaptation Star waiting in the wings and is great in this
- Hopper isn't really a lovable dick anymore, just a dick
- I feel that Hopper's parental relationship with El has only ever been portrayed as antagonistic, and while in this season it's more a generic "argh parenting teenage girls is a nightmare!" kind of normal conflict than last season's protection against sinister agencies/monsters conflict, it gives all their scenes unnecessary tension
- The rest of the gang being whiny and broken up is just boring because it felt like the same thing happened for most of last season?
- I don't think adding the Russians in is great but hey
- Jake Busey, Cary Elwes, and Michael Park are all the same person
- Ultimately the different threads with all the different character dynamics is paying off

I thought that was fantastic. I didn’t hate the second season, but this is up there with the heights of the first, exceeding it in many places.

You can’t spell America without Erica.

I was just starting to wonder where the buzz for this here had gone.

Really liked the season finale.

Call me naive but I didn't see Hopper 'dying' coming. I expected someone from the main cast to die and wouldn't have been surprised if it was one of the kids.

I reckon the Russians mentioning an American prisoner at the end is a bit of a red herring, and it's Matthew Modine who they have locked up, who they're forcing to help with opening the portal. Hopper is trapped in the Upside Down and next season will be focused on Eleven getting her powers back to rescue him.

I do hope the next season is the last, because at this stage it does seem like the threat of the Upside Down has completely run its course.
