The Duffer Brothers agree with this, although a Season 4 is coming, they have said "bad things can't keep happening to these guys".

Season 4 is said to be bigger than Hawkins and take in other places in the US.

That'd be awful. I love Stranger Things because of the characters. If it wasn't for the good characters I don't see how it'd keep my interest. It'd be like replacing the cast of friends or Frasier.

Erm, they are not talking about a new cast just a broader scope...

The comment about bad things happening to these characters was a nod to them just saying they can’t do another 4 seasons, 5 at most they said.

I'm shocked that the offspring of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke is hot. Shocked I tells ya. Uma

It's not really scary at all but good story. Been following this since part 1. I wonder if other characters might have powers too like El and Will.

Will doesn't really have powers.

His neck tingles a bit when the Mindflayer is near.

They really should have set series 4 in Norwich.

Just seeing the reaction of the US audience to the Norwich accent would be amazing.

Up to Episode 3 now and I'm enjoying it. Certainly it's much already much better than the second series (certain parts of which I'd forgotten but, thanks to the recap, I now remember as being utter shite). It's a completely different beast to the first series which, although obviously reliant on nostalgia, was a little more grounded but it's well written enough to get away with its Flanderisation. I love the look of it too, all oversaturated and bold.

Wish they hadn't shown the monster in the trailer though.

Not feeling this series, I keep finding myself drifting off and being distracted. It just doesn’t seem to be that engaging.

Loved this.

100% agreed. After the entirely forgettable season 2 this was a huge relief, and is what I suspect the original season 2 was going to look like.* It's given up its more grounded apeing of King and Speilberg to go full 80's neon feverdream but strawberry float it's fun. The plot was good, the cast great and some scenes (the firework fight especially) were strawberry floating gorgeous.

Great stuff.

*The original plan was to do an IT and rejoin the kids several years after their experience with the Demagorgon.

It's got the best finale of any series of the show, and probably the best writing overall.

Finally finished it:

That was just superb. The season perhaps started a little slowly but it all came together oh so well. Easily the best finale out of all the seasons and it looked fantastic too. That fireworks scene was just perfect. It’s never looked better as a show.

I don’t know if it’s just coming off the back of the Games of Thrones shitfest but throughout the whole season you just feel the writers have such a good grasp of the characters and where they want to take them. Robyn was a very good new character (and a brilliant actress) and I enjoyed Eric’s promotion to main character too.

Also, Hopper obviously isn’t dead is he? I reckon he jumped through the gate into the upside down. We didn’t actually see him die, Eleven conveniently doesn’t have her powers to look for him anymore, and there was that big post credit hint obviously. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if “the American” was a bait and switch.

Overall, 9/10. Brilliant, a lot better than S2 and comes really close to beating S1.

Robin. It’s Uma Thurman’s daughter if anybody doesn’t know this.

Unpopular opinion time - I didn't really enjoy this series as much as the others :shifty:

The product placement really got on my tits, and was hugely distracting when it appeared, which was a lot. I don't know why hopper had to be all shouty too, made me really dislike the character.

I felt it only really started to get going in the last few episodes (which looked stunning by the way. Those fireworks :datass: ).

I dunno, it just left me a little empty. Maybe it's becuase the sense of discovery is gone.

More annoying is the back to the future audio was out of sequence :x

The product placement was strawberry floating dire to be honest. The worst I've seen in a long time.
