tbf reading the comments on the previous page pretty much everyone was saying they didn't think Hopper would be the American in the last scene of S3

Can't wait to see what exciting reason they come with for the explosion that vapourised literally everyone else in the room leaving Hopper in one piece.

It was hinted at earlier. Always leave the door open a little bit or whatever the quote was. He went to the upside down through the gate that was still there.

It’s obviously going to be that he used the gate and wasn’t there for the explosion, which many people thought

Why on earth did they reveal he was still alive in the trailer (spoiling just in case but why are you reading this if you haven't seen S3 yet)

It's a good idea IMO.

Compare with GoT when they "killed off" Jon Snow. Everyone knew he wasn't really dead when the actor showed up for filming the next season. The same would have happened here. But this way Netflix get all these views and shares and clicks and all the inevitable moolah that comes with it.

Is more surprising but less interesting that Hopper is just in Russia. Thought he'd be stuck in the Upside Down for however long like Jumanji.

There is absolutely no way they could have kept it quiet if he has a major role in the season. Set photos will get out. And they’ll want to include him in the promotional activities. Better to just embrace it now.

I think it’s Eleven’s papa who is the American in that Russian jail.

Didn't they already show who it was in the last teaser?

Yeah but it may not be that. Maybe I’m wrong but I got the feeling it’s just a red herring to make you think it’s Hopper.

How did the Russians knew about the upside down, and it’s stronger in Hawkins? There’s only one person that can provide that information. And it’s Brenner. He’s in the wind according to the guy that Eleven tried to have her revenge in S2 with her “sister.”

They literally showed him in the Russian jail - it followed on from the teaser from the end of the season. Brenner still could be in Russia though.

Have they said if this is the final season yet? I remember it being renewed for multiple seasons years ago but forget how many.

I did like S3 but feel like it's lost some of the charm with all the cute kids now being gangly teenagers.
