Had a quick blast on this last night, didn't notice too many changes specifically but there was definitely a subtly different feel to things in that intangible way that you can't quite put your finger on. Definitely think that newer players will appreciate some of the changes around making Axel faster and tweaking the way some things can/can't be interrupted.
Some of the bosses toward the end felt like more of a challenge as well, but it might be that I've just got more gooseberry fool at the game since I last played!
Replaying this just reminded that amongst all of the other great elements the soundtrack still stands out as insanely good, there are a few weaker tracks
certainly but when it gets it right it just nails the vibe perfectly!
I mean even the character select screen in this game gets an absolute banger like this which puts the best tracks in other games to shame:
