Going from Axel to Blaze was a surprising change. She's lightning fast in comparison.

So how do these star moves work in this exactly? I've got stars I'm pushing the star button "R" by default on Switch but nothings happening. Can they only be used under certain conditions or something?

Surprising in that Axel is crap in comparison in this, and in pretty much every SoR game? You want to bust heads AND make moves? It’s always been Blaze, baby.

It's not assigned ro R by default on Switch. You have to tick the box in the options.

Hmm, haven't seen an option for that - when I go into the controls menu it says R is assigned to it.

Oh well, I've got to Stage 7 without needing them so I'm quite happy with that! :lol:

Better than nothing I guess! I do miss the co-op action from this, half the fun of playing the old games was pissing off my friends/brothers by "accidentally" battering them with a pole all the time. :slol:

Axel really is gooseberry fool. All his special moves leave him really vulnerable and he's slow as hell.

I'm trying to finish all the levels with each character but I'm really not having fun anymore, the amount of times I go for a tiny little combo and an enemy starts their attack animation right as I get to the bit I can't cancel out of with a defensive special is absurdly high.

The fun on replay is seeing how high of a combo you can get but the way the game operates makes it quite frustrating to try and attempt then. Half the time getting hit doesn't feel like my fault, just feels like the game being cheap.

Trying out Cherry now and finding it quite tough! She's got some cool moves though.

I think my favourite level has to be Chinatown :datass:

I've got the 7 day nintendo online trial and am loving this in coop. Clearly this is how it's meant to be played.

Finished the story mode on normal and started an Arcade play through on hard with Retro Axel. He is so fast he lands bigger combos than Cherry! Admittedly no specials other than the police support car, but he still feels kind of overpowered as its much easier to kite people with him. I think i was getting 1ups 50% faster with him as well!

Although the music is amazing in this, I felt it wasn't quite as memorable as the original. Until I woke up this morning with one of the tracks stuck in my head. Even now I can hear it :datass:

I'm up to stage 8 on mania although I'm using a ton of handicaps. It's really difficult.

SoR2 Max is cheat mode

Completed Mania mode. Could only do two levels without a handicap though. Honestly I think this might be my game of the year.

Played as Floyd this morning and was getting my highest scores yet. His long grab and double grab moves are so good.
