There are plenty of similar things, I had crazy bones but never had go-gos.

Recently there are Star Monsters and Zomlings

When i used to go to a Haven holiday park (around 1991-3), there was an arcade there which featured a game called Rad Mobile, used to play on that all the time, especially as the in game dashboard had a dangling sonic the hedgehog.

Speaking of Haven holiday parks, did anyone here join the tiger club?

Boglins

I had this one:

Genius packaging on these. When we cleared dad's house this was still in the loft, in its packaging but the rubber had perished to the point where the face had collapsed and bonded to itself so there was no point in keeping it.

Nostalgia. It’s not the same as it was when I was a kid.

Being able to sing Gary Glitter songs.

White dog shite.

10p mixtures.

Buying rolls of caps and all the ensuing gunpowder shenanigans to be had.

I used to scrape a stone or coin along the strip to create a rapid fire effect, or failing that just hit them with a hammer.

Simple times.

The coin technique was a good one.

I also used to enjoy buying a box of matches and a packet of polos, then creating match rockets. A lost art. I’ll have to teach my kids how to do it this weekend. The perfect birthday present for a ten year old!

Rolls of caps

We used to carefully unfurl the roll, then fold it lengthways so the red side was out, thus slightly cracking all of the caps open. Then tightly rolled it, still folded into a small ball, leaving a fuse of sorts of the end without bangy bits on (was always a few cm of that). Then light the fuse and watch the whole thing go boom at once :datass:

Rolls of caps were amazing. That delicious gun powder smell! Toy guns where the caps didn't line up properly and you had to keep faffing about to get them to line up.

Keeping with the gun theme, spud guns that came free with comics.

Yes?

Those yoghurts with a pot of sprinkles to throw in. Also those yoghurts with a rubber flippy thing as a toy.

Wasn't it down to the piss poor quality of dog food back in the day? Loaded with ground up bones and stuff.

Iirc it was some sort of spray you'd put on the gooseberry fool to make it break down. This was before the days where people realised you should just pick the gooseberry fool up.

There was a similar thing called Tazos, you'd get them in packs of Quavers and the like.

I've still got a complete collection of these on my shelf:

Including the Doritos exclusive Tazos. I don't even like Doritos.
