I love Sainsbury's because it keeps the scum out of Waitrose.

I didn't know you were Stephen Fry. I'm a huge fan.

Ahh, Waitrose, where you buy exactly the same shite but at vastly inflated prices. But with a smug sense of self-satisfaction and a cup of coffee while you do it.

The smug sense of self-satisfaction cannot be underestimated, it feels great even if you've only bought a tub of ice cream or a packet of biscuits.

In my old job, there was a Waitrose across the road which I'd sometimes use to get lunch if I hadn't bothered to make my own. I definitely didn't feel smug shopping there. I'd usually just cry when I saw that a sandwich and crisps had cost me £6. And what's with their sandwiches anyway? Where's the cheddar? It's all emmental this and emmental that. Bloody daft. Co-op sandwiches are much tastier anyway. Viva la Co-op.

I was in John Lewis on Friday. A small cheese roll in their restaurant cost £5.50.

I don't find the coop that cheap but their own brand stuff is good. Especially their ice cream.

I used to go to the one in Lewes fairly regularly as worked there. Used to love their chicken tomato and basil pasta they did in their meal deal.

Their lunch time deal for £3.50 is pretty good. And you can't go wrong with their doughnuts for 65p. And yeah, their own brand stuff is really great.

Co-op is gooseberry fool, and well overpriced. Glad the one near me strawberry floated off and was replaced with Morrisons.. well, sort of it's also gooseberry fool.

Our Waitrose won't even let you have a coffee unless you bring your own cup now.

 I gave about 6 years of life to the Co-operative group so I’m still really defensive about it, my partner always says things about the co-op to get a rise out of me, my closest shop is a one stop and that is rubbish, I have tried before to try and buy things to make a meal and failed, chocolate, crisps, milk and newspapers that’s all it’s good for

Anyone else a supermarket tart who shops in most of them to find the bargains, or does everyone stay loyal to one supermarket?

Ludo is gooseberry fool!
