I think I would be disappointed if the accident with the waiter plays a significant part of the finale. It felt like the emotional climax of that plot thread was Kendall confessing to his siblings at the end of season 3, it doesn't feel like it would be particularly interesting to revisit, especially if it ends up playing a big role in Kendall's downfall.

No sympathy for Roman at all.

Feels like the acting has taken a real step up this season (not that i thought previous seasons were bad)!
Every episode has had some amazingly acted scenes in it.

Yep. I had Roman down as the standout but those 2 have overtaken especially after The Argument.

They did it. Absolutely nailed the ending. One of the best shows of all time.

I've watched this whole show from the beginning for the first time over the last two weeks and can't wait to see the finale!

Lots of people at work are watching it and I keep being asked what 'Team' I'm on and apparently Team 'They're All strawberry floating Horrible Humans and I Hate Them All Evenly' is not valid.

What an ending.

4x10- That really uncomfortable scene with the three kids in the office at the end (and the one before it where Kendall deliberately breaks Roman's stitches) doesn't hit anywhere near as hard without the earlier charming scene at Caroline's house where they share a rare moment as siblings.

Absolutely brutal.

Yes, as we were watching it I said to my wife that the kitchen scene felt like their 'happy ending' scene before things were going to fall apart somehow at the board meeting. Those final scenes were so difficult to watch. Just fantastic writing.

Hmm.

I get that my 'Kendall becomes the new Logan/Greg fires Tom' prediction for the finale is likely exactly what the showrunners wanted a lot of us to think, but I feel like the last-minute Shiv pivot felt a bit too melodramatic for a show this nuanced. I have no problem in where the finale landed all of the characters but the telling of it wasn't as seamless as in previous seasons. A few examples:

Roman and Kendall cementing Menckin meant nothing in the end? He was fine all along in dealing with Shiv and Mattson?
The GoJo numbers in India being fake had no impact on the deal?
Frank, having heard of the 'reverse viking' plan in secret and having always been on Kendall's side, goes with GoJo for some reason?
Conor, who stood up for Willa time and time again, seems resigned to the fact that his marriage is fake and everyone else was right?

To me, the 'shock' of the final 15 mins or so was put ahead of showing rather than telling certain aspects of the full story arcs for each character. So in that sense, a little unsatisfying.

I was actually glad that Logan died soon early in the season so that the show wouldn't become repetitive like Dexter or House of Cards where the antihero comes out on top, but instead I'm thinking an eventual rewatch will be repetitive in a new way: watching Kendall get a head of steam every season and then be left with his d*** in his hands in the finale.

Shiv's actions make perfect sense to me.

Matsson screwed her so she jumped on the Kendall train to strawberry float him because she was upset and angry, and still trying to cling to some kind of power. But when she saw Kendall take Logan's chair and act like dick (he couldnt stop himself before they'd even had the vote!) she started to have a moment of clarity. Take the multi billion dollar payout or be forever tied to Kendall, who for all his strengths had plenty of weaknesses and ultimately, just isnt Logan. And if she wasnt 100% sure before she ran out the vote, she certainly was after Kendall's breakdown trying to keep her on side.

I don't think I've ever seen a character so perfectly summed up in just 4 words

The correct answer.

A great final episode to cap off a great season. Overall, it's not in my top shows of all time, but it was very very good.

I like that so much of it didn't make logical sense and that threads were left open. That's real life.

Roman talking about Kendal's adopted kids was strawberry floating brutal

Brilliant finale.

Put me down in the slightly unsatisfied with how it all shook out though. I mean I don't feel unsatisfied because it was brilliant but if I were to have a pop at it I'd say.

It was just a repeat of the board meeting in S2 where Kendall tries to take over. Also Shivs turn seemed to come out of nowhere.

I like that Tom got it though, just an empty shell of a human.

I thought that was a cracking way to finish.

Tom 'winning' felt right but at the same time did he really win as he is just going to be a puppet for the Swede's and just showed what a spineless and weak person he will always be.

I first thought Tom keeping Greg around made no sense but then who is he going to pick on? He needs Greg so be can make himself more like a 'man'. He needs someone to punch down on and Greg is happy to be that person if they are willing to pay him $200k a year.

It was great seeing Kendell break down at the end. He was never a leader or had any real talent. He is literally someone who was born into money and thought that was enough to be great and he wasn't great. You could always tell he wasn't comfortable being in charge and had no idea what he was doing.

Roman only cared for him self but at the end realised he wasn't cut out for it.

Shiv got played but I always felt she was the most talented of the children.

I think in the end all we had was a bunch of entitled children who thought they were more talented and important than they thought they were who were all strawberry floated up in there own special way.

Great is definitely not the word I would use, I found the scene between the three of them at the end genuinely difficult to watch
