During the DC Fandome event, Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill confirming Suicide Squad is a continuation of its Batman: Arkham-verse. This means story-threads in the Arkham series will be continued in Suicide Squad. Hill also confirmed Suicide Squad is set in an open-world Metropolis. It's a one to four-player co-op game. You can play it single-player, with the Squad filled by bots. But if you want to play multiplayer with your friends, they can take the role of the other squad members in online co-op. The whole game is accessible single-player or multiplayer, Hill said. If you're playing single-player, you can switch between the characters at will.

I wonder how Rocksteady will shoehorn the Joker into this one.

Seems to be set in the Arkham series, and happens after the events of Arkham Knight. So the Joker is still dead. Probably some flashback or mentioned by Quinn.

Excited for this.

I feel nothing for it. Ditto Gotham Knights.

At least they've used what is presumably the in-game engine for the trailer rather than CGI rubbish.

I know they haven't shown much but still seems like such a disappointment. Looking at this and Gotham Knights, just seems like they've dropped everything that made the Arkham games unique and well received and turned them into generic, Ubisoft third person action/rpg games.

Also zero chance I can stand listening to Harley Quinn for an entire game.

Looks good but 2022 feels ages away so not even worth thinking about it.

Nearly choked on my corn flakes when they said 2022 at the end. What in the Sam Hill have they been doing all these years?
Was getting a Sunset Overdrive vibe from it all, which - as anyone with a modicum of taste will tell you - is not good.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they developed something and scrapped it and start something different. There were rumours that they were working on a Justice League title.

Also it being an open world city, so there must be fairly a lot of designing the city and locations plus developing the story and make sure they all fit together. It’s hardly something you would make up as you go along. Also they would have got the next gen development tools fairly two-three years ago?

I’m definitely a lot excited for this and Gotham Knights but then I’m a huge DC fanboy so a lot of bias there.

Kinda dig the vibe but I need to see gameplay first before really setting any proper judgment. Just hope it's not muddled with online stuff.

What is the point in announcing something like this so far out?

Like many other developers doesn’t?

It isn’t a new thing.

Rocksteady prob just got tired of constantly being asked about what they're working on.

I should imagine that it is probably hard to get any work done when you spend a lot of time burying news of sexual harassment claims and other shitty working practices within your company.
