Was this Prey 2017 or the old Prey?

I caught a little bit of it - was 2017 Prey.

Resident Evil 2 probably the best run so far.

Mort the chicken was a personal fav. The runner just sold how gooseberry fool the game was.

Yeah it was a good'un. Hard for me to pick out my favourites, the runs I normally watch are for games I really like, I tend to avoid games I'm interested in trying. Those WADs they did for Final Doom looked pretty crazy, watching that and these Mario hacks make me think there is potential for a marathon dedicated entirely to hacks, mods and fan games as they are incredibly spectator friendly.

Think this might be the best GDQ I’ve ever seen. Hopefully it has a hype ending to tip it over the edge.

The Mario Block was nuts, Dode’s run of Invictus was nuts.

It's been a pretty decent one so far. Some really good runs.

Celeste coming up soon with TASbot.

That was pretty damn good. Especially that final C-Side they did.

Missed a few runs that I’ll need to catch on the YouTube channel, but the Majora’s Mask run has been predictably great so far.

Looking forward to seeing the Mario stuff and RE2 particularly.

There seem to be a lot more races this year than past. It’s good because you get a bit more of a show out of it. As impressive as some of the runs are it really annoys me when the player just sits there, barely talks about the game or even what they’re doing. The Prey run was interesting but the runner barely said anything and when he did it was just in a monotone voice. I know it must be hard to concentrate with the crowd and it’s probably stressful but I much prefer it when it seems like they’re having fun. It’s why the Resi 2 run was good.

I’ve never seen anything like that postman - so many 9.99 and 10.01 scores!

I think a lot just concentrate on the game, as speed running isn't exactly something easy, more so when you're doing pixel perfect and frame perfect stuff. Usually, though they had a great group on the couch for the less chatty runner.

I've never paid that much attention to Ocarina of Time speedruns so I absolutely had no idea you could warp from the end of the Deku Tree to the final fight in the game as young Link.

Yeah it's crazy. I don't really follow runs that are that heavily glitch based to be fair. It reaches a point where you're not playing any of the bloody game.

That said I do enjoy them on occasion and that OOT glitch is crazy.

Super Metroid/Zelda 3 randomiser co-op up next. Been waiting for this all week.

Yeah that Randomiser didn't disappoint. Couch guy was really good as well. Kept the energy up and was genuinely funny in places.
Easily my favourite run of the week.

It's also definitely not a race. :shifty:

SGDQ raised 3 million dollars in total.

Also Metroid Prime has an unofficial world record as one of the runners got the first ever 0:50 in game time in the practice room lol.
