I’m just hoping they haven’t actually limited physical copies of this though.

Technically that is what they're doing...

Zelda 1 was released on 21st Feb in Japan.

Oh fair enough  but I think you know what I mean, I don’t see a Zelda collection (if we get one of course) coming out until a similar point in the year to the Mario collection.

Official Nintendo store and Amazon still have it up too if anyone else is looking for a physical copy.

Just placed a pre-order on Amazon. £50 seems way too steep but quite fancy the idea of picking this up to play over Christmas.

Currys are doing it for £45 if you use the £5 off code they have currently.

Super Mario Sunshine question, I never completed the game on GC, when people mention a lot of issues with certain parts is that things you experience going for 100%?

Like, if I was looking to just do the minimum to get to the final boss and beat the game, will I miss a lot of these issues people bring up?

What are the issues you speak of?

The only biggy that I can think of is the blue coins. Some are only available in certain chapters within a level and the game doesn't tell you this, nor is there a counter so you need to keep count yourself, otherwise you might end up searching for coins that aren't there.

The blue coin tracking is definitely the thing that needs (so won't because Nintendo) some sort of tracking. 10 blue coins can be exchanged for a shine, but as you exchange it then just reduces the number in the UI. Couple this with no tracking of how many are in each level, and you can quickly have no idea how many you've got in total, or where they came from. The thing is, j find them fun to find, as you really have to poke around and experiment to get them, but as said above, you could be doing that in a level that no longer has any.

That’s the thing, I just read a lot people having issues with the game but I don’t actually know what the real issues are. The Blue Coins thing is something I have heard of before.

I guess there were some sections that were just frustratingly hard?

Some sections were flat out gooseberry fool due to a combination of bad design and camera. There's a red coin thing on a sand bird which is gooseberry fool, using fludd to navigate while on a sinking Lilly pad, yoshis that dissolves in water. Things like that.

Edit: this is probably the worst offender

It is NOT as easy as that video makes it look :dread:

Ugh, are these sections involved if you are going for 100% or will even going for the bare minimum shines to get the final boss still encounter this type of thing?

By my recollection you could get to the final boss without needing to go too far down the blue coins rabbit hole and you can probably ignore most of the shittier stars like the pachinko one as well :dread:

Thank god for that :shifty: I’ll probably main line Sunshine and then maybe try my hand at some extra shines and see how it goes

Be a nice surprise if they actually did fix some of these issues in the All Stars release, especially camera related problems

So I have played these 3 games before, and had planned to get the collection, but not straight away. The limited time bullshit forced my hand, and the limited physical print run meant I was going to pick it up on Friday. Galaxy is one of my favourite ever games so I don't mind. I do fancy some 3D Mario.

However, I haven't yet played Odyssey. Do people reckon that's more of a must-purchase?

Odyssey is strawberry floating incredible and an absolute must buy for any Switch owner in my opinion. If you've not played that they I would be getting on it ASAP.

I would definitely recommend buying and playing Odyssey first if you've played through 64, Sunshine and Galaxy.

Finished a second play of it this morning before work and it was just as much fun as the first time (context). Don't skip it!

For me, Odyssey is one of the most joyous, varied and downright entertaining games that has ever existed. Probably more value for money in the three-game pack, but Odyssey is wonderful.
